Kellwood Employee Honored
Mrs. Betty Ragan (L) received a 15 year service award from Arthur
Loewen, plant manager of the Kellwood Company. She has served as a
supervisor for these years. Leroy Williamson, a supervisor in the Mon
tezuma plant, also received a 15 year award.

Freddie Minor (L), an employee in the shipping department of the
Kellwood Company, received a 10 year service award from Arthur
Loewen, plant manager, in ceremonies Friday at the Perry plant.

Scoggins
Jayme C. Scoggins, 81,
of 704 Todd Circle,
Warner Robins, died at
her residence Tuesday,
November 13, 1979 after
an extended illness.
Services were at 3 p.m.
Thursday, November 15,
in the Lane Funeral
Home Chapel in
Rossville, Ga. Burial was
in the Pleasant Hill
Cemetery in Walker
County.
Mrs. Scoggins, a native
of Walker County, had
lived in Warner Robins
for the past three years.
She was retired from the
Berry Schools in Rome
and was a Baptist.
Survivors include two
daughters, Hazel Estes of
Warner Robins and
Maxine Marshall of
Perry; three sons,
Charlie Scoggins of
Warner Robins, Don
Scoggins of Rossville,
Ga., and Leland Scoggins
of Summerville, Ga.; one
brother, Roy Coulter of
Rossville, Ga.; two
sisters, Daphne Peterson
and Mary Holbrook, both
of Rossville; 11 grand
children, and six great
grandchildren.
Christopher - Smith
Funeral Home had
charge of local
arrangements.
King
Willie B. King, 48, died
Saturday, November 10,
1979 in a Houston County
hospital. Services were
held at 3 p.m. Saturday,
November 17, in Oak
Level Baptist Church.
Burial was in Rest Haven
Cemetery. The Rev.
David Savage officiated.
Mr. King was a
member of Oak Level
Baptist Church and was
an employee of Clausen
Paving Co.
Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Eddie Julia
King of Perry; three
daughters, Mrs. Bernice
Solomon of Warner
Robins, Miss Gwen E.
King and Miss Shirley
King, both of Perry; four
sons, Willie B. King Jr. of
Warner Robins, Spec 4
Draper King of Fort
Gordon, Ga., Ricky King
and Stanley King, both of
Perry; his mother, Mrs.
Ossie Arnall of Atlanta; a
sister, Ms. Hattie King of
Perry: a brother, Mar
shall King of Perry; and
a grandson.

Mortuary had charge of
arrangements.

Pvt. Larry G. Hardnett
is visiting his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Hardnett. Pvt. Hardnett
has just returned from a
three year tour of duty In
Germany. He will report
to Ft. Benning, Ga. for his
next tour of duty.
Pvt. Hardnett is a 1974
graduate of Perry High
School and received his
basic training at Fort
Jackson, S.C.

Preparation of the voting machines to be used
in the December 4, 1979 City of Perry General
Election will be started on Tuesday, November
27, 1979, at 9:00 a.m. in the Georgia National
Guard Armory in Perry. All candidates for City
Council Post and other interested parties will be
afforded every facility for the examination of all
registering counters, protective counters, and
public counters of each and every voting
machine at this time.
