sorship of Taylor’s work,
to be displayed in the
i former Jane’s Shop
location on Carroll Street.
, The artist has studied
i under Lamar Dodd,
Howard Thomas, Vince
Dieball, and the late
American Watercolorist,
Herb Olsen. He has
exhibited and won
awards in shows
throughout the southeast,
and his paintings and
portraits are included in
private, industrial, and
institutional collections
throughout the country. A

Forum To Be
Held In Perry
Georgia’s Fourth
District Congressman
Elliott Levitas and
President Pro Tern of the
Georgia Senate, A1
Holloway, will be the
featured speakers for the
annual Pre-Legislative
Forum sponsored each
year by the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce.
The Perry Chamber will
co-sponsor the Forum
locally.
The Forum this year
will begin in Toccoa,
Georgia on November 28,
1979 and visit 17 cities
throughout the state. Ann
Conner, Executive VP
announced that the local
Forum would take place
on December 7, 1979 at
the Holiday Inn. Tickets
may be purchased at the
Perry Area Chamber of
Commerce. In addition to
Representative Levitas,
and Senator Holloway, it
was announced that Bob
Richardson, President of
the Perry Chamber,
Charles Presley,
President of the Georgia
Chamber of Commerce
and John Stevens,
Chairman of the
Governmental Council of
the Georgia Chamber of
Commerce would also be
participating. Mrs.
Conner indicated that the
Georgia Chamber of
Commerce has been co
sponsoring the Pre-
Legislative Forums for 27
years and that the format
was designed to give the
business community an
opportunity to discuss
pending legislative issues
with State and National
leaders.

Jackie Bryant, son of
Ruth Roberts of Perry,
has arrived for du*v here
at McGuire Aii Force
Base,
Sergeant Bryant, an
aircraft loadmaster, was
previously assigned at
Cleveland, Ohio, and is
now serving with a unit of
the Military Airlift
Command.

Class Edwin L. Hamilton,
son of Howard H. and T.
Joyce Hamilton of 38
Little Joe Ave., Bonaire,
has reported for duty
aboard the submarine
tender USS Canopus,
homeported in
Charleston, S.C.
A 1975 graduate of
Warner Robins High
School, Warner Robins,
he joined the Navy in July
1977.
Pvt. Ella Marie Joseph,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Otis Joseph of 6A
Perimeter Circle, Perry,
has completed her course
on Personnel
Management Specialist
while stationed at Fort
Benjamin Harrison,
Indiana. She is now
stationed in Darmstadt,
Germany for two years,
where she will be on the
job training.

Subjects of his paintings
have ranged from scenes

wildlife and portraiture.
Wendell Taylor is
equally well known for

Rome, Augusta, Vidalia,
Dublin. Savannah,
Waycross, Valdosta,

Columbus.

metal. The Last Supper,
in wood sculpture, graces
the rear of the alter in the
St. Patrick Episcopal
Church in Albany; a
twenty-four foot sculp
ture in stainless steel
stands in front of the Fine
Arts Building, Columbus
College; and he has also
executed a massive wall
hanging in wood and
metal, depicting the
history of Columbus, for
the National Bank &
Trust Company,
Columbus.
“We cordially invite
folks to come by Sunday
afternoon and speak with
Wendell and his wife,
Sue,” said The Bank's
President, Lewis Meeks.
“He has many friends in
the area, having grown
up in the Clinchfield
community, where his
mother, Mrs. Ruth
Taylor, still lives. We are
very pleased to be able to
provide this opportunity
for us all to appreciate his
fine talent.”
The paintings will be on
display from 2:00 to 5:00
on the Open House
Sunday, December 2, and
the following week, in
The Bank’s Main Office
and Eastgate and Plaza
Offices. In addition to the
paintings on display,
many will be for sale.
