v Wow! Somebody we know just
may end up on "Good Morning,
America" this Thursday morning.
The 1989 Georgia Peach Fes

will be celebrating one of Georgia's
most important crops with festivi
ties on Thursday, Friday and Satur
day this week.
The "Good Morning, America"
appearance will be at 7:30 Thursday
morning on ABC television.
Lots of other activities arc
planned, with "Peaches on Parade,"
a fashion show and luncheon, set
for the American Camellia Society
at a cost of $lO per person,
reservations required.
The day concludes with
"Pcachfcsl 'B9" at 7:30 p.m. at the
Big Peach in Byron, featuring a
street dance, fireworks and barbecue
plates for sale. A sneak preview of
"Up with People" is also planned.
On Friday, the "Pcachwalk for
Health" begins at 8 a.m, and a look
at the history of Blue Bird Body
Company will be featured at 2 and
4 p.m. at the company's national
headquarters, free.
The day concludes with a two
hour performance by the world
renowned "Up With People" at the
Peach County High School
Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets arc
$5 in advance and $7 at the door.
I heard this group several years
ago, and, although they change
personnel quite frequently, the
group has high standards and sings
with real talent and enthusiasm.
Sounds like a great week, doesn't
it? And - remember - if you get to
the Peach Mall early, you just
might get on television!

By the way, the current pro
duction for "Up With People" is
called "Time For The Music," and
will be presented by the multi-na
tional cast of more than 100 young
men and women.
The two-hour show features the
singers, a band and cast that has

I have, because several friends of
mine arc "lying the knot" this
summer. It is such an exciting lime
for all the brides and grooms and
their families, with so many parties
and showers honoring each of them.
1 know this is one of the de
lights of every season, but it seems
that so many more are in the sum
mer months.
I went through all the excite
ment of being the "mother of the
bride" four years ago on July 6, so I
know how much fun everyone is
having.
I also know how much work and
planning is going on behind the
scenes!
My best wishes to each bride and
groom and their mothers and fa
thers. I know it will all be worth it,
even when things seem to take
longer and cost more than it seemed
in the beginning.
Happy Wedding to each and ev
ery bride and groom!
