Giants do it again and
win over Phillies 17-16

The Giants did it again in the
HCRD Tec League. This lime they
look a one run win away from the
Phillies, in their three inning game
on June 23 at Huckahy.
The Giants look over in the first
inning, scoring 10 runs to the
Phillies 8. Then in the second
inning both teams tied with four
runs each, but the Giants still
maintained the lead with the score
now at 14-12. The Phillies were
catching up and closing the gap
between the scores of both teams.
In the third inning the Phillies
managed to score one more run than
the Giants did in the inning, but it
Braves defeat Padres
in a close game 20-18

In the Tee Boys League of the
HCRD games, the Braves look over
in the first inning and stayed in that
position for the rest of the game.
In the first inning the Braves
sent a total of 10 players across
home plate to pul them in the lead
over the Padres with the score of
10-8 by the lime the inning came
to a close.
In the second inning they went
to work and added 10 more runs
while the Padres could only collect
6 and the Braves commanded that
inning also with a score of now 20-
14.
Pirates win over Reds
in a six to one game

The Pirates and the Reds in the
HCRD Midget League went into a
hard fought battle at Rozar Park on
Wednesday night and the Pirates
clipped any chance for the Reds to
come out with a win after six in
nings.
The Pirates went into the lead in
the beginning of the game with a
score of 3-0 by the time the first
inning ended.
Neither team could add any runs
in the second inning and the score
stayed the same.
Then in the top of the third in
ning the Reds managed to add one
run and the Pirates picked up an ad
ditional two more runs making the
score now 5-1 Pirates.

The second game in the Tee
Boys league at Ted Wright Park on
June 21 had the Giants going up
against the Cards.
In the first inning both teams
managed to send six each across
home to score and they were tied at
the end of the inning 6-6.
The second inning the Giants
fell behind by one as the Cards
racked up six runs to the Giants
five and the Cards look over the
lead at 12-11.
It was in the third inning that
the Giants started a rally that put
them over the lop and they added a
total of ten more to their score
making it 21-12.
Red Sox win over the
Rangers at Huckaby

The Red Sox and the Rangers
faced off in the HCRD Mite League
for a game at Huckaby and the Red
Sox left the field with a winning
game in the scorebook.
The Rangers team stayed hilless
throughout most of the game as the
Red Sox racked up runs in the first
inning, the second, and the fourth.
It was one to nothing in the first
for the Red Sox and then they
picked up another two runs in the
second inning.

was the Giants winning the game

17-16 in favor of the Giants.

Philip Gentry, Paul Andrews, and
Trey Cawthon going three for three
at bat, and John Erwin, and Leonard
Green going both two for two.
Top sluggers for the Phillies
were Matthew Slaughter, Kent
Keener, Nathan James, and Brandon
Joy with three for three, and John
Maddox and Jamie Bryce going two
for three each.
When the top of the third inning
rolled around for the Padres, they
were able to pick up four more
runs, but it just wasn’t enough to
do any damage to the Braves scor
ing position, and the Braves won
the game with a final score of 20 to
the Padres 18.
The Padres got a total of 18 runs
off 22 hits, with Jason Wade,
Bronson Stubbs, and Jessten Mullis
going three for three at bat.
The Braves top hitters collected
20 runs off 21 hits with Rick
Diebold, Sceb Lacey, and James
Plaxico also going three for three at
bat.

Final score was on the winning
side for the Pirates with it ending at
6-1.
Top hitters for the Reds were
Shane Klepko, Tony Glasco, and
John Carman. For the Pirates it
was Stephen Thomas and John
Mohn.
The Cards tried their best and
they could only come up with five
more runs and it wasn't quite
enough to do any harm to the Gi
ants.
By the time the inning came to a
close the Giants had clinched a vic
tory for their team and the final
score at the end of the game was
Giants 21, the Cards 17.
The Giants had a total of 26 hits
and the Cards a total of 23 hits. The
leading hitters for the Giants were
Luke Meens, Kris Wright, and
Philip Gentry going three for three.
Leading the hitters for the Cards
were David Lynch, Bruce Crabb,
David Branch, and Scott Street also
making three for three.

The Rangers were finally able to
get onto the scoreboard with a run
in the top of the fifth, but that was
the only one they would get for the
game and the Red Sox finished out
with the win with a score of four to
one.
Top hitters for the Red Sox were
Kevin DeHart- one for two, Matt
Davis- one for two, Josh Lee with
one for one, and Oshauna White
hirst with one for one also.
For the Rangers one player took
top billing, and that was Cleat Bai
ley who had one for two at bat.
Final score Red Sox four runs
off six hits, and for the Rangers it
was one run for six hits.

Orioles win in
game with the
Mets' team

The Orioles took to the air in
their recent game against the Mets
and bombarded the scoreboard with
runs. The birds chalked up a total of
17 runs in the game to add a victory
to the team record book.
In the first inning the birds took
over and were in first place with a
score of 4-1.
In the second inning they added a
total of eight more runs to their
score, and the Mets added two,
making the score 12-3.
No one was able to cross the
plate at home in the third inning
and the score remained 12-3, and in
the fourth inning the Mets short
rally added three runs making it 12-
6.
The Mets kept the Orioles from
scoring across home plate until the
fifth and final inning, when the
birds grabbed another five runs and
the game was part of baseball his
tory in their favor.
Top hitters for the Orioles were
Darrell Darsey with two hits, Scott
Andrews with two hits, and Freder
ick Marshall with two hits.
The leading hitters for the Mets
were Kevin Clements with two hits
and one home run, Kyron Fran
cisco, with two hits and one home
run, and Ryan Simpson with three
hits.
Pirates win 13-6
against Cubs in
Rozar Park game

The Pirates of the HCRD
Midget League turned up a win for
the team in the game with the Cubs
that they played at Rozar Park on
Friday.
The Pirates were in command of
the game from the very first inning
and stayed that way until the final
out was called.
The first inning ending score
was Pirates 4, Cubs 0. Then in the
second inning the Cubs racked up
one run and couldn't develop
anything more in the inning for
their team.
The Pirates added five runs in the
inning to their score and they were
on their way to the win.
The Cubs surprised the Pirates
in the third inning and picked up
three runs while holding the Pirates
to a no inning score.
It was in the fourth inning that
the Pirates sent four more runs
across the plate to lead at 13-5.
In the top of the fifth inning the
Cubs added one more, but that was
about all they could muster in the
inning and the win went to the Pi
rates at 13-6.
Leading hitters for the Pirates
were Jason Niederkorn with three
for three, Alando Simon with two
for three, and John Morion with
one for one.
For the Cubs it was Brandon
Lewis with one for two, and Chris
Hayes with one for three and one
home run.

The All-Star team of Illusions-
Hamby defeated the team of PAC-
Impressions, 9-2, in the finale of
the pee wee girls season.
The Illusions team members
were Kristin Shipcs, Courtney Day,
Lacey Leskovar, Jennifer Stewart,
Julec Todd, and Dana Collier.
Hamby was represented by
Christy Cook, Amanda Lynn,
Whitney Christie, Nan Shelton,
Ashley Walker, and Summer Nor
man.
Impressions sent Betty Fair
cloth, Paige Hart, Crystal Fletcher,
Crystal Nance, Sara Gibson, and

A marathon slugfcsi developed at
Tollcson field in one of the final
games of the Ochlaiachcc season as
Crossroad's Bank defeated the
Brahma Bulls 21-11 in Junior
League action.
The game, which lasted over two
hours, was called in the fifth when
Crossroads took a 10 run lead.
Michael Davis got Crossroad's
started off right as he smashed a
two run homer to pace Crossroads
to a 3-0 lead.
Brahma replied with two in the
bottom of the first when Lindsey
Harrell nailed a triple scoring two.
A third bascrunncr came around
to apparently score but was called
out for running over the catcher.
Crossroads got seven more in
the second. Jake Stfcwarl scored on a
walk. Chris Stewart then knocked
Bryant Bledsoe and Michael Davis
in. Stewart later scored as
Crossroads took a 9-2 lead.
Crossroads pitcher Michael
Davis struggled in the bottom of
the second as he walked the first
four batters.
A botched play at the plate
scored another as Brahma rallied to
close the score to 9-7.
