Harrison R. Hill Jr.
FORT VALLEY - Harrison R. Hill Jr., 62, of 415 Emory St. died
ovembcr 2 in a local hospital. Born in Athens, he was a member of St.
uke Episcopal Church and was a retired administrator of Fort Valley
State College. Survivors: wife, Juanita Hill of Fort Valley; children,
Harrison Hill 111 of Warner Robins, Gleniss H. Carswell of Macon, Daryl
Hill of Perry and Sonya King of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Doris Pettaway
of New York, Julia Stephens of Athens and Barbara Hill of Augusta.
Services: were 3 p.m. November 5 in St. Luke Episcopal Church. Burial:
Willow Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Father Hughie Walker
officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the
American Diabetes Association, National Service Center, 1660 Duke St.,
Alenxanfria, VA. 22313. Edwards Funeral had charge of arrangements.
Baby Girl Tyndal
ELKO - Baby Girl Tyndal, the infant daughter of Richard and Terri
Tyndal of 105 Flournoy Road, died November 3, 1992 in a local hospital.
Survivors: in addition to her parents, survivors include grandparents,
Beverly Mackey of Perry, Raymond Tyndal of Elko and June Carr of
Clovis, Calif.; great-grandparents, Annie Ruth Tyndal of Elko and Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Hill ol Fort Valley. Services: were 11 a.m. on
November 6 in Snow Springs Cemetery, Unadilla. Watson-Hunt Funeral
Home in Perry had charge of arrangements.
Baby Boy Tyndal
ELKO - Baby Boy Tyndal, the infant son of Richard and Terri Tyndal of

Edward George Williams
WARNER ROBINS - Edward George Williams, 70, of 1613 N.
Houston Lake Rd. died November 4, 1992 in an Augusta hospital. Born
in Milan, he lived in Warner Robins for the past 32 years, moving from
Macon. He was a retired truck driver for Georgia Highway Express and
Transac. He was the son of the late George E. and Sadie Parker Williams.
He was a member of Byron Methodist Church, the VFW in Macon and
the DAV in Macon. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Survivors:
wife, Ruth B. Williams of Warner Robins; children, Betty Nixon of Cary,
N.C., Jean Kitchens and Esther Howard, both of Warner Robins, Ann
Granger of Jackson and Edwina Lower of Perry; sisters, Gladys Estes of
Albany and Ann W. Dortch of Jacksonville, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Services: were 10:30 a.m. on November 6 in McCullough Funeral
Home, Warner Robins. Burial: Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Warner
Robins, Macon. The Rev. Sydney Odom officiated.
Elwood White Jr.
PERRY - Elwood White Jr., 62, of 500 Stanley St. died November 4
in a Warner Robins hospital. Born in Ben Hill County, he lived in Perry
for two years, moving from Ocilla. he was the son of the late Elwood
White Sr. and was a Baptist. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and
a retired driver lor General Motors Corp. Survivors: children, Pat White,
Peggy White, Pam White and Penny White all of Atlanta and a son, Paul
White of Texas; mother, Minnie Loudermilk White of Mystic; sisters and
brothers, Ethel Wright of Perry, Marie Wright of Roswell, Barbara Jean
Ellis of Midlothian, Va., Ralph J. White of East Point and Eugene T.
White of Centerville; and several grandchildren. Services: November 7 in
Mystic Baptist Church. Burial: the church cemetery. The Rev. Ed Reeves
will officiate.
Roger Dale Morrow
KATHLEEN - Roger Dale Morrow, 54, of 920 Sylvian Drive died
November 4 in a Warner Robins hospital. Born in Moran, Kan., he lived
in Kathleen for 16 years and was a civil engineer for Robins Air Force
Base. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran and was the son of late Ross
Morrow. Survivors: wife, Adele Ardolino Morrow of Kathleen; mother,
Ethel Hanson Morrow of Wellsvillc, Kan.; son, Gregory Ross Morrow of
Santa Monica, Calif.; sisters and brother, Mary Ann Mocherman, Gloria
Leecy, Richard Morrow and Kenneth Morrow, all of Wellsvillc. Services:
were November 6 at 6:30 p.m. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, Perry. The
Rev. Bill Hansen officiated. Burial: private.
David Wayne Hatton
McDONOUGH, Ga. - David Wayne Hatton, 46 of 139 Audubon St.,
died November 5 at Henry General Hospital in Stockbridge, Ga. He was
currently a hydraulic mechanic in McDonough and was formerly employed
at Heilman Brewery. He had resided in McDonough 2 years moving from
Perry. He was also a Army veteran. Survivors: daughters, Holly
Elizabeth Hatton of Perry and Jessica Lynn Hatton of Warner Robins;
sons, David Wayne Hatton Jr. and Jay Hatton both of Fort Valley;
mother, Elsie Marie Hatton of Perry; father, Furman Hatton Sr. of Perry;
sisters, Denise Smyth of McDonough and Brenda J. Bromwel of
Tallahassee, FI.; brothers, Furman Hatton Jr. and Donald Hatton both of
Centerville and a companion Laree Bartlett of McDonough. Entombment
will take place November 8, 1992 in the Perry Memorial Gardens in
Perry. Ford Wilson will officiate. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry
had charge of arrangements.

closed for Vets Day
The Georgia State Patrol office Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance
has announced its drivers license of Veterans Day. The office will

County Cattleman's assoc, re-organized
For a couple of years, there has
been a good deal of discussion
among the cattle producers of
Houston County about reorganizing
the Houston County Cattleman's
Association. Several years ago, the
association was a strong viable
group that met regularly. For one
reason or another, the organization
ceased to function.
Recently, there has been renewed
interest in the association. "There
have been several people ask about
reorganizing the cattleman's group,"
explained County Extension
Director, Duren Bell.
"We feel that there will be a lot
of interest among all the producers
of the county, but especially the
smaller producers."
Bell explained the association
will be an excellent medium
through which to conduct cduca-

of the National Funeral Directors
Association (NFDA) held Oct. 24-
29 in San Antonio, Texas.
The theme of this year's conven
tion was "Excellence Togcthcr--A
Family Tradition." The convention
workshops and sessions presented
the most up-to-date information on
educational, technical, management,
regulatory and other funeral service
issues.
'The annual convention provides
an opportunity for funeral directors
and state associations to share in
formation and ideas," stated David
Dillon Jr., president of NFDA.
"Attendees then take the experience
back to implement and better serve
the community."
The National Funeral Directors
Association, headquartered in
Milwaukee, is the largest funeral
service association in the world.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has
been in membership for 50 years.
Riley Hunt is now serving as vice
president of the Georgia Funeral
Director's Association, and will be
President of the GFDA in 1993-
1994.
Hawes elected
chairman of AWPI
Perry resident Robert O. (Bob)
Hawes has been elected chairman of
the American Wood Preservers
Institute (AWPI). Elected by the
AWPI Board of Directors earlier
this month, Hawes will serve as the
institute's chief elected officer and
chair the organization's Executive
Committee during his 1992-93
term of office.
AWPI is the national trade asso
ciation representing the wood pre
serving industry and promoting for
est conservation through wood
preservation. Its members' products
include pressure-treated wood used
for decking, bridges, utility poles,
railroad tics, guard rails, fence
posts, sign posts, sound barriers,
docks, piers, crossarms and glue
laminated beams.
Hawes is currently employed as
president and chief executive officer
of Mellco Inc. located in Perry
where he and his wife, Nancy, re
side. He met his wife while in
school at the University of
California, Berkley, where he grad
uated with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business and a minor in
Industrial Engineering. They are the
proud parents of four children, who
reside in various locations around
the country.

ence in October.
Arment was one of 50 Edward D.

the conference, which was spon

Towers.

tirement, marketing strategies and
recent product enhancements of ITT

hand to help with the organization.
