David and Nancy White got
more than a mystery Friday night
while watching Perry Mason as
they were interrupted by a police car
crashing into their house.
Nancy White said she heard
loud noises outside her house about
9:45. “The sounds got closer and
closer. It felt like it was coming
into the house,” she said.
White said she followed her
husband outside to discover a police
car partly parked on her front porch.
The couple realized the person driv
ing the car wasn’t a policeman, and
White called 911.
Twenty-three-ycar-old Marshall
Bunn of Warner Robins allegedly
stole the police car on Frank
Satterfield Road while Officer Bill
Hathcock was visiting relatives
according to Capt. Jim Hardy of the
Perry Police Department.
Hathcock thought he’d only be
inside his relatives’ home for a few'
minutes but stayed longer, Perry
Police Chief Frank Simons said.
Hathcock left the car running while

Perry Limited developers who w'ant
to develop the area.
After discussing the list of
concerns, Shaw discussed issues to
be resolved with the commission

The commission agreed on
such provisions as requiring open
space and the necessity pfTtuffcr
zones, fences or larger lot sizes
along existing abutting properties.
Chambless asked Shaw to use
the information learned at the meet
ing to draft a proposal of a planned
residential development and submit
it to the commission on Jan. 25.
Shaw said, “I’m really im
pressed with the planning commis
sion’s ability to grasp concepts and
come together on a proposal and

Simons said the amount of
damage done by the incident is un
determined, but the police car suf
fered “extensive damage.”
He said Bunn is responsible for
the damage. “It obviously was not
an act of a city employee.”
White said she believes the city
is responsible for repairing the
damage done to her boat, house and
fence. “If the policeman hadn’t left
