Charlie Culler Sr.
PERRY - Charlie Culler Sr. of 1307 Whipple St. died December 13 in
a local hospital after a brief illness. Bom in Houston County, he attended
New Mount o;live Baptist Church in Elko, He was a retired employee of
the city of Perry. Survivors: wife, Freddie Culler of Perry; children,
Charlie Culler Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn.; Freddie Murray and Gwendolyn
Roundtree, both of Warner Robins and Leroy Baker and Helen King, both
of Perry; stepchildren, Susie Mae Young and Nathaniel Tharpe. both of
Perry, Lugene Webb of Warner Robins, Mattie Mae McCray and Betty
Webb, both of Tampa, Fla., and Elijah McCray of Brooklyn, N.Y.I and
two grandchildren.
Eddie Lee Davis
KATHLEEN - Eddie Lee Davis, 75, of 123 Roberts Road died
December 15 at his residence. Born in Dooly County, he lived in
Kathleen 40 years and was a member of Brownsdalc Baptist Church. He
was the son of the later James M. and Ulalis Lee Davis and was a retired
farmer. Survivors: wife, Alene Brown Davis of Kathleen; children, Jimmy
Davis of Hampton, Va„ Barbara Dell Tidwell and Mary Frances McCarty,
both of Kathleen, Joann Hamsley of Columbia, S.C., Eddie Jean Baugh
of Yatesville and Peggy Carroll of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers and
sisters, Marvin Davis of Unadilla, Hazel Duncan and Melvin Davis, all of
Jacksonville, Fla., Joe Davis of Warner Robins, Louise Wells of Fort
Valley and Sarah Dickerson and Martha Hobbs, both of Cordele; 16
grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services: were December 18 at
11 a.m. in Brownsdale Baptist Church, Pulaski County. Burial: the
church cemetery. The Rev. James Denton officiated. Watson-Hunt Funeral
Home in Perry had charge of arrangements.
Henry Robinson
WARNER ROBINS - Henry Robinson died December 11 in a local
hospital. Born in Macon County, he was a member of Union Grove
Baptist Church and was the widower of Annie Ruth Johnson Robinson.
Survivors: children, Robin Jackson and Bernadette Glover, both of Fort
Valley, Mae Orjiekwe and Anne Ezell, both of Perry, Bessie Robinson,
Jeanette Robinson and Emory Robinson, all of Warner Robins, Annie
Thurmon, Corine Anderson and Nathanial Davis, all of St. Louise, Mary
Jones of Chicago, Bishop Henderson of Winter Garden, Fla., James
Robinson of Orlando, Fla., Lewis Robinson and Henry Robinson Jr.,
both of Fort Pierce, Fla.; brothers and sisters, Lettie Eiland of Cleveland,
Ohio, Nanette Fisher of Battle Creek, Mich., Willie Bcauford, Bessie
Richardson and Annie Clark, all of Indianapolis, James Davis of
Milwaukee ad Charlie Davis of Columbus; several grandchildren, great
grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services: were 1 p.m. on
December 18 in Greater Union Baptist Church, Perry. Burial: Friendship
Baptist Church, Henderson, the Rev. Elzoid Haywood officiated.
Meadows-Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel in Oglethorpe had charge of
arrangements.

Georgia National Fair wins award for book
The Georgia National Fair was
singled out for an award in the an
nual competition of the
International Association of Fairs
and Expositions (lAFE) during its
102nd annual convention in Las
Vegas earlier this month. Executive
Director Michael A. Frochlich said
the Georgia National Fair's
Livestock Premium book was de
termined the best of the competi
tion for fairs with attendance in the
250,001 to 500,000 category.
Dale Redeker, agricultural man
ager for the Georgia National fair
grounds and Agriccntcr, said rules
for the contest consider the clarity,
value and case of use for the book
from the exhibitor's point of view.
Businesswomen's
Club adds a new
member Thursday
The Perry Business Womens
Club met Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7
p.m. with 20 members present in
cluding one new member, Jean
McGahcc. Special guest was Dale
Burke who sang Christmas carols.
Hostesses were Elise Rogers,
Elaine Wright and Linda Buhmann.
The cake drawing was won by
Palsy Watson and door prizes were
won by Betty Seago, Betty Stubbs
and Susie Smallwood. The next
meeting is scheduled for Thursday,
Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

Book Club holds
Christmas lunch
The Wednesday Afternoon Book
Club held its annual Christmas
Luncheon Dec. 16 in the festively
decorated Garden Room of the New
Perry Hotel with 18 members at
tending.
The president, Mrs. Carolyn
Etheridge, welcomed the group and
returned thanks before the delicious
luncheon was served.
Mrs. Margaret Talton introduced
Mrs. Betty Parkinson who pre
sented an inspirational Christmas
reading from the works of Peter
Marshall.
The traditional exchange of gifts
from the Christmas tree was en
joyed to close the meeting.
Hostesses for the day were Mrs.
Ruth Saxon and Mrs. Dot Greene
assisted by Mrs. Willie Dean
NeSmith and Mrs. Marie Marshall.
Both Frochlich and Redeker cred
ited state livestock for their help
with the book. They expressed a
special word of commendation to
Marcia Johnson, agricultural
progress coordinator, for pulling it
all together in an attractive and
comprehensive package.
Approximately 3,200 fairs in the
United States and Canada are repre
sented by the IAFE.
