The DMX digital tuner and its remote control
Perry cable co. to offer
digital music service
By J.J. COOPER
Staff Writer
Perry's Peachstate Cable is ready
ing a new digital music service for
the area.
Perry will become the third city
in Georgia to have the new Digital
Music Express, or DMX.
DMX is essentially music
through the same cables that supply
cable television.
"We started looking into this at
the end of the summer," PCTV
President Bill Mitchell said. "We
are in an area that is fairly FM
starved. There isn't any big band or
classical. We determined that it
would sell well."
Mitchell said the DMX will cater
to people who are not served
adequately by the present FM radio
selection. People who are happy
with local FM's selection of classic
rock and country will probably not
be as likely to subscribe as people
who want big band, classical or al
ternative music.
There will be 30 channels on the
DMX system. The music selection
will include classical music, jazz,
oldies, country, Latin, urban sta
tions, rock, contemporary Christian
and show tunes.
To get the system, subscribers
must have a stereo or receiver with
an open CD or other port.
The system will cost $10.95 a
month. PCTV will supply the
DMX receiver and a remote control.
The remote displays what song is
being played, the artist who sings it
and other miscellaneous informa
tion.

Why 1 love mv family
By Mat; da Ivn ClaiiniHon
1 love my family because they arc
always here for me. They help me
with my homework. Do things for
me when I don't deserve it and
always have the right things to say.
My family may not be perfect but
1 love them. My father works six
days a week but when he's off we
have family day most times. My
mother works four days out of a
week 12 hours but when she's
home she takes us places
sometimes she will buy us stuff.
My sisters give me energy because
they piek at me and aggravate me.
But overall I love them!
