Capt. Canning 1 Resigns.
Captain G. T. Canning sent a letter
•to the Candler Horse Guards last night
stating that foe would at once forward
his resignation to the Governor as Cap
tain of the troop. The resignation
will be accepted and an election or
dered. Col. Ben Galliard will probably
be elected as his successor.
