Court will adjourn late this afternoon until the second Monday in August, when an adjourned term will be held. If a judge can be secured to try the Roark ease, it will come up at that time. So far, Judge Kimsey has been unable to secure any one to preside for him then. The Grand Jury also will adjourn this after noon until the second Monday in Au gust at which time the bnsiness of the body will be finished an adjournment taken for the term. Taylor, of Atlanta, one of the most prominent negroes in the South, is in the city today. He is a Democrat and w^as minister to Liberia under President Cleveland. He served out his term of four years, and upon Harrison’s election resigned, refusing ie-appointment at the hands of the Re publican administration. Taylor is now editing a Democratic paper in At lanta. Rev. H. C. Strickland Dead. Col. S. C. Dunlap was called to Jack- son, Tenn., yesterday by a telegram announcing the sudden death of nis brother-in-law, Rev. H. C. Strickland. Rev. Mr. Strickland was known to many in this city who were pained to hear of his death. The funeral takes place in Chattanooga, Tenn., tomorrow. For Sale.
