Rheumatism.
A Purely Vegetable Blood
Remedy is the Only
Cure.
If the people generally knew the
true cause of Rheumatism, theie
would be no such thing as lini
ments and lotions for this painful
and disabling disease. The fact,is,
Rheumatism is a disordered state
of the blood—it can be reached,
therefore, only through the blood.
But all Wood remedies can not cure
Rheumatism, for it is an obstinate
disease, one which requires a real
blood remedy—something more than
a mere tonic. Swift’s Specific is
the only real blood remedy, and it
promptly goes to the very bottom
of even the most obstinate case.
A few years ago I was taken with in
flammatory Rheumatism,which,though
mild at first, became gradually so in
tense that I was for weeks unable to
walk. I tried several prominent physi
cians and took their treatment faith
fully , but was unable to get the slightest
relief. In fact, my condition seemed to
grow worse, the pains spread over my
entire body, and from November to
March I suffered agony. I tried many
patent medicines, but none relieved me.
Upon the advice of a friend I decided to
try S. S. S. Before allowing me to take
it, however, my guardian, who was a
chemist,analyzed the remedy, and pro
nounced it free of potash or mercury.
I felt so much bettor after taking two
bottles, that I continued the remedy,
and in two months I was cured com
pletely. The cure was permanent, for
I have never since had a touch of
Rheumatism, though 'many times
exposed to damp and cold weather.
Elkanor M. Tippei.l,

Those w ho have had experience
with Rheumatism know that it
becomes more severe each year,
and like all other blood diseases,
the doctors are totally unable to
cure it. In fact,
the only remedies
which they pre
scribe are potash
and mercury, and
though *ei$>*orary
relief may result,
these remedies pro
duce a stiffness of
_ joints and only in
tensify the disease.
S. S. £. never disappoints, for it
is made to cure these deep-rooted
diseases which are beyond the
reach of all other remedies. It
cures permanently Rheumatism,
Catarrh, Cancer, Scrofula, Eczema,
and all other blood diseases. It
is the only blood remedy *guar-

Women as Lawyers
Mr. Sloan of Hall introduced a
bill praying that the legislature
let women practice law in Geor
gia. He may meet with no oppos
ition, for if the women want it the
law makers may have no objec
tion.
Imagine the new woman pawing
the air, with “gory locks and
frightful mien,” trying to make
jurors believe her way. The day
when woman’s only reason was
“because” is past, they tell us,
and she steps forth richly endow-
ed w r ith mental faculties and ab
ility to hold her own in any tonge
weilding contest.
Now the next step for the legis
lature is To so amend the rules of
court produce that the “lady of
the bar” can always have the con
cluding argument. Such provi
sion of law 7 will have to come if
she is admitted to practice, and
Mr. Sloan or some other chival
rous gentleman might a6 well add
this feather to his cap. No mat
ter how new the woman may get,
they will never yield their ancient
and sacred right to have the last
say.—Macon Telegraph.
A Theater On Wheels.
“Several of the through trains
running out of New York are soon
to be equipped with luxurious
vaudeville cars fitted up with all
the accessories of a regular thea
ter.” says the Nsw York World.
This startling innovation, which
marks a new era in the comforts
of railroad travel, will first be
tried on the Lehigh Valley system
and the Nickle Plate railroad. The
first theatrical car will be run on
the Black Diamond Express in
April, 1899. One of these cars is
now being built for a well know r n
theatrical manager who will pro-
vide the entertainments. The
various shows giveu will consist
of vaudeville performance and
concerts, the stage being too small
for all but the -simple theatrical
product iou.
If you have catarrh, don’t dally with
local remedies, but purify and enrich
your blood with Hood’s Sarsaparilla.
Last Monday week the last wire
was strung by which Austin, Tex-
aB can have telephonic connection
with Bar Harbor, Maine. The line
is 2,600 miles long and will be
open to the public December 1st.
This long distance system will al
so embrace New York, Washing
ton, and all the large eastern cit
ies. This is the longest telephone
line in the world.
Beats the Klondike.
Mr. A. C. Thomas, of Marysville,
Tex., has found a more valuable dis
covery than has yet been made iu the
Klondike. For years he suffered un
told agony from consumption, accom
panied by hemorrhages; and was ab
solutely cured by Dr. King's New Dis
covery for Consumption, Coughs and
colds. He declares that gold is of lit
tle value in comparison with this mar
velous cure; would have it, even if it
cost a hundred dollars. Asthma, Bron
chitis, and all throat and lung affec
tions are positively cured by Dr. King’s
New Discovery f6r Consumption. Trial

It is Bad
Very bad policy to neglect symptoms
of troubles in the kidneys. If allowed
to develop they cause much suffering
