Official Organ Hall County,
A VICTORY FOR THE! TICKET.
The election is over and it will
be but a short time until the newly
elected officers will be installed
into office. A fairly good , vote
was polled, though considerably
less than previously, when hot
contests were on hand.
The Democratic ticket has won
by a good majority in nearly every
county in the state and Governor
the com-
CUTAWAY HARROWS
Candler has been given
plimentary majority of about 60,-
000.
In Hall county the nominees
won by majorities of from 800 to
1000 where there were contests,
and the others polled the full vote.
The campaign was quiet and or-
ly and the election passed off with
out any friction whatever. By
believed that there
ters, 15: Cox, 21: Tumlin,
Cranford, 16: Eidson, 22: Dorsey,
some it was
was too much apathy among the
people, but the election shows that
this feeling was without founda
tion in fact.
The majority of both parties ap
pear to be well satisfied with the
result, and as the people them
selves always pass upon these
things-there should be no ' cauee
for complaint.
The attention of all will now be
turned to the national election,
and the feeling prevalent among
the people now is that Bryan will
lead Democracy to a glorious tri
umph in November.

Here are some of the things we are almost giving away:
A Bad Tragedy.
At East Point last Saturday there oe-
. .
curred a tragedy which of local interest
because two of the participants fprmea
ly lived here. Walter and George Hud
son of Gainesville, were attacked by a
young man by the name of Sheffield
Harrington in the office of the concern
aqwhich they worked, After a few
angry words passed between Walter
Hudson and Sheffield Harrington shots
were exchanged, one taking effect in
the farmer’s chest near the heart, and
" 1 latter was hit at several different
ices in the body. George Hudson
s arrested charged with shooting
irriugton in the back but he strenu-
sly denies doing the shooting.
Harrington has since died from the
effects of the shooting and Walter Hud
son is in a dangerous condition and
may not live.
The tragedy was caused by an al
leged secret marriage between Walter
Hudson and Sheffield Harrington’s sis
ter. Mr. John W. Hudsou of this city,
father of the young men, has been at
the bedside of his wounded son this,
week. Efforts are being made to get
George Hudson out on hail. The un
fortunate affair is greatly regretted
