CRACKER, SATURDAY, MARCH 9, 1901
JUST FROM GILLSVIDLE.
We are having some good- grip
weather at present.
Messrs. S. B. Carter ai d W. A.
Crow visited Gainesville on Tues
day and cast a few smiles upon
their friends at that place. They
are hustlers, and don’t you forget
it.
Mr. L. W. Day, I am sorry to
say, has the grip, and he has to
stay close about home.
The farmers are very busy put
ting in guano and preparing for
six-cent-cotton this fall.
The merchants are ,very busy
selling one ton of guano and two
tons of rations at a time, and I am
of the opinion that some one will
feel like singing “Show pity, O
Lord!” this fall.
We have a large school at this
place—one hundred and fifty en
rolled. With Prof. W. N. Oliver
as principal, and Miss Lula Me&d-
ows assistant, it is obliged to be a
success.
We had Messrs. Fleteh and Oli-
iver Carter of [Gainesville, to - see
us not long ago. Come again,
boys, as we are glad to see you at
any time.
Brother R. D. Hawkins preached
an excellent sermon at this place
last Friday night. We are always
glad to see him.
Brother C. T. Brown filled his
regular appointment Saturday and
Sunday at this place.

ville, March 19-25.: _
Gainesville is to have a street fair
and carnival beginning March 19th and
continuing through 'March 24th. Mr.
L. Mooser, representing the Sturgis
Carnival Co., was in the city Tuesday
and closed a contract for a five day’s
show. It is to be absolutely free, and
hourly exhibitions are to be given on
the public square.
Among the attractions is Prof. Spee
dy, the high diver, who leaps from the
summit of a ladder erected 90 feet
above the ground and diving into a
small tank of water; a big Ferris
wheel, which gives you a novel ride
from a giddy height; the electric the
atre ; Pharoah’s daughter; Lotta, in.
poses plastique; Celeste, in electric
serpentine dances ; the Galveston hor
ror and battles of the world, produced
by electricity-; the Florine show, or
the flying body , the big snake, Jumbo
the Little World; the Fat Boy ; the
Wild Man, etc.
These shows are said to be good, and,
wherever exhibitions have been given,
satisfaction has resulted. The people*
throughout the surround ing country are
invited to the city to see this show and
witness all the performances. '
Prof. Ivison, of Lonaeoning, Md.,
suffered terribly from neuralgia of the
stomach and indigestion for thirteen
years and after the doctors failed to
cure him they fed him on morphiner. A
friend advised the use of Kodol Dyspep
sia Cure and after taking a few bottles
of it he says, “It has cured me entirely.
I can’t say too much for Kodol Dyspep
sia Cure ” It digests what you eat. Geo.
