The Carnival Comes Next Week.
Beginning next Tuesday, the street
fair aDd carnival will hold forth for
five days. It is expected that there
will be a large number of visitors in
tbe city, and trade among, the business
men is expected to be good. The at
tractions are said to be excellent, and
no doubt the people will patronize them
liberally. The carnival has been ex
tensively advertised, and the descrip
tions oi the different features are glow
ing. Mr. E. H.. Tineh, manager for the
company, has been here all the week
putting out advertising 'matter and
making all the arrangements for the
exhibitions.

Mr. Parks Bell Dead*
Mr. Parks Bell died -at his home in
Jefferson Thursday night. He is a son
of Mr. J. Mitchell Bell and has several
brothers living in this county. He was
an excellent young man and his death
is greatly regretted. He leaves a wife
