To Organize New Companies.
Mr. Jno. A. Smith advertises in this
issue for correspondence or interviews
with responsible parties, looking to the
establishment of a hosiery and knit
ting 1 mill in the building now occupied
by Inman, Smith & Co., as a shoe fac
tory ; and a leather and collar factory
in the tannery. He desires to have
these companies organized and ready
to begin operations by October 1st.

Imran, Smith & Co. have not yet
reached a decision as to what they will
do in the future. They will either
build a factory for their shoe business,
or move the plant to Atlanta. They
will not continue a tannery here at all.
Thej will likely determine, within a
month’s time, ^exactly what they Will
do about their shoe factory. The peo
ple of Gainesville hope they will de
cide to remain here.

returned from a trip to Forsyth county

looking, and their appearance indicated
that a good counterfeit dollar could' be
