STORYETTES.
One of the greatest curiosities in
Gainesville is an old negro of the
name of Jeff Walker. This negro
is perhaps sixty years old. He
lives in a cabin, situated on the
right-of-way of the Southern . rail
road, about a quarter-of-a-mile
above the depot. The cabin is a
curiosity in itself, being about ten
feet square, with cracks all around
large enough for a good-sized dog
to crawl through. The roof is full
of holes and' the rain does Uncle
Jeff’s washing* The whole is a
complete wreck, but Jeff seems
perfectly content aB it is. In this

Crops were damaged very slight

Wheat is about all harvested,
