Tribute of Respect.

We, as a band of brothers, fraternally
believe in a Supreme Being. Now
since our Heavenly Father has seen
fit to take from our midst our brother,
D. G. Payne, we resolve the following
resolutions: ‘
First, be it resolved that our loss is
his gain.
Second, be it resolved that we tendor
our heartfelt sympathy to his aged
mother and remaining brothers and

upright young man, we know that the
time is not far off when we can meet
him in that eternal brotherhood of uni-

Third, He being the first of our local
order to pass away, we hope that it
will be a solemn warning, to our broth"
erhood. Our ties being matual and
fraternal only, we hope to be with him
in the grand union above, where the
Saviour rules supremely.
Fourth, be it resolved that these res
olutions be spread upon our minutes,
and that they be printed in the Gain
esville Eagle and the Georgia Crack
er, and that a copy; of the same be
presented to the family.

Pastor Given a Vacation.
Rev. J. A. Wynwe has been given a
r§st by his congregation—the members
of the first Baptist church—during the
moi}th of August. He has not yet de
cided where he will rest during his
vacation. ■
New Undertaker to Locate Here.
Mr. W. R. Dexter, who has an under
taking establishment at Lawrenceville
and one at Suwanee, was in the eity
this week and rented the building*
of Mrs. J. A. Thornton,.on South Brad
ford street, which is to he remodeled
and put in first-class shape, for the
purpose of opening an undertaking
business in the city. The building will
be ready for occupancy m about six
weeks, at which time Mr. Dexter will
move in. He will open an np-to-date
place and will conduct it in a first-class,
maimir. -
