For the past year or so my business has grown to such an extent that I have been forced to
look around for a larger house in which to run business. I have at last succee ded in getting
one—the large store rooms
jerking Mr, Carter out. This started
the horses on a run, and Mrs. Carter
was thrown between the wheels to the
ground, the vehicle passing oyer her
body. Two ribs were broken, a gash
was cut upon her chin and on her head,
and she sustained other severe bruises
and hurts. Mr. Carter was stunned
and bruised by his fall, but quickly re
gained his feet and went to where Mrs.
Carter lay. As he was nearly a. mile
from any help he made her as comfort
able as possible and started out to , get
^ome one to come to town for Dr. Bai
ley. After going a mile he secured a
man, and m an hour or such a matter
Dr*Bailey got.there and dressed the
wounds. It was necessary for him to
take nine stitches on the cut on Mrs.
Carter’s head aiid five on the chin. He
found no internal injuries. In a little
while she was brought to her home in
the city, is now improving and will per
haps be out in a week*

The ones occupied at present Dy J. H. Hunt’s Bank, G. S. Johnson’s Furniture store, and
Martin & Hunt’s Buggy and Wagon warehouse. All of these rooms will be thrown into one
largestore room and fixed up in the latest up-to-date style. This building will not be ready
for me before the first day of September, and between nowand that time I propose to sell out
all, or most of my present stock of goods. I wish to do this in order to save the expense of
moving, and at the same time enable me t<*buy new, fresh goods for my new store. I know, to
to get rid of goods fast at this season ol the year, I will have to cut prices, and cut them cfeep.
This I will do. I propose to put prices down to make the goods go, whether they are needed or
not. There havenever been such values seen in Gainesville as will be offered in my store for
the next thirty days. The goods must be sold, and if low prices have anything to do with the
sale of them they will go. For instance, I have in * r

A Rich Strike.
Mr. H. D. Jaquish has struck it pretty
rich pn his McGlusky mine. One of his
men, while prospeeting bn the famous
“Shotgun chute” a few days ago, was
attracted by some ore which lay in the
original tunnel. He gathered it up
and worked it, with the result that it
turned out'177 penny weights .of gold.
It is believed that this chute is quite
rich, and the ore taken out already
will assay $2,000 a ton. Mr. Jaquish
has had this mine for- two years or
more, and has been quietly working it.
There is no doubt that it will pay more
handsomely than ever.
