A SAD DEATH,
home ‘ near Hosahton Tuesday
morning after a illness of several
weeks. She was a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W. E. Sailors and was a
most estimable Christian woman.
She was only married a few months
ago and her death is a great be
reavement to her husband and
friends. Her remains were car
ried tc Zion church Wednesday
morning, where the funeral servi
ces were held and the interment
occurred.

ers Pass Resolutions On His Heath.
At a special meeting of the Mayor and
Council of the City of Gainesville Thurs
day touching" the death of President
McKinley, the following resolutions
were read and unanimously adopted:
“Whereas, President William McKin
ley who while in the City of Buffalo,
on a mission of peace, was stricken
down on the 6th inst. by a red han
ded assassin, and lingered with Chris
tian fortitude on a bed of pain and per
il until the 14th inst. when he quietly
passed to the great beyond, and,
“Whereas, it is meet and proper that
this body give expression of its sorrow
on account of the death of thisu distin
guished citizen, who had by bis own
strides reached the zenith of all earthly
glory and by easy effort had walked
into the hearts of the American people;
therefore, be it Resolved, that in the
death of president McKinley, while we.
bow submissively to Divine Providence,
we can bat say that in the death of
this patriot, soldier and Statesman the
loss is irreparable to every American
citizens who occupies a foot of land
o’er which the stars and stripes * wave.
Resolved further, that in the death
of this unblemished character we haye
