Or shall the wife and husband unite their names, and call themselves Jones-Rogers? Or .shall the woman keep strictly to her own name, discarding en tirely that of her* husband, and call herself Mary Jones or Mrs. Mary Jones? Jackson, Miss., October 29.—h {Special.)-A sensational damage suit was filed in the federal court here yesterday by *A. W. Lamp- kin, a citizen of Wesson, who wants $20,000 from three physicians of that place who had him incarcer ated in the Mississippi insane hos pital for a period of nine days, his release ’being secured oii a writ of habeas corpus, heard be fore Chancelor Conn, and in which some spicy testimony was given. Lampkin had threatened to kill a young lbdy to whom he had been paying his respects, the reason assigned for the threat being that she had com promised herself, and Bis queer actions caused the physicians to convene a lunatico de inquirendo proceeding. C., Oct. 29—One hundred and ten of the ring horses of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show were crushed to death in a rail road wreck near Lexington at 3 o’clock this morning. Among the horses killed was “Old Pap,” Col. Cody’s favorite saddle horse. ‘•Old Eagle,” the star ring horse, was killed and his mangled body fell on top of one of the wrecked engines. The team of mulesthat drew the Dead wood coach were also killed. Col. Cody spent to day at the scene of the wreck, and is heart-broken over the slaughter. He says his loss is $60,000. The accident was the result of a head-end collision between a fast south-bound freight strain and the second section of the show train, and was due to a misunderstand ing of orders.
