On the Death of Thomas Haynes
Passed hy Trinity Sunday

1901.
In the death of our brother, our
school and community have sus
tained a great and irreparable loss.
We share the grief of his mother,
brothers and sisters, and extend
to them our deepest sympathy.
In their loneliness, we point them
to Him who has said “I will net

grief for the young life cnt off so

We shall often recall with sor

Too Effective,
E. T. Abbott, the civil engineer
and contractor, tells a good story
about a German saw-mill propri

saw-mill men used refuse from,

was pretty much back number, and
one day the agent for a firm came
to the plant, and, aftei looking it
over, told the German that he
would put in new aud improved
machinery for a bout $4,000, which
would reduce the amount of fuel
used one-half. While the fuel
cost nothing, it required four men
to provide it and the German was
assured that two men could do the
work after the new machinery was
installed. It looked like a good
proposition, and the saw-mill man
