THURSDAY AFTERNOON
Heavy Seance Fcr Moonshiner.
Atlanta, Ga., January 17. —
Judge Newman of the United
States district court of Georgia
has given John W. Christian of
Madison county a sentence of two
years in the penitentiary at Nash
ville, Tenu., together with a fine
of SIOO and costs of court. This
heavy sentence was imposed so as
to place Christian where he will
not bother the officers of the rev
enue service for seme time to
come. During the last ten years
Christian has appeared in the
United States court every year to
answer some violation of the
United States internal revenue
laws.
He is an old timer at making
the forbidden fluid, known as
“mountain corn.”
He entered a plea of guilty this
morning, as he has done on sever
al other occasions.
It is not known how long he has
been engaged in the business of
illicit distilling, but he was first
caught in 1889, receiving a sen
tence of six months in Fulton
county jail and a fine ot SIOO.
In 1892 he pleaded guilty to
working in a still and was sen
tenced to three mouths in jail-.
In 1898 another plea of guilty
brought him a sentence of one
month iu Hall county jail with a
fine of SIOO.
A verdict of guilty to working
in another distillery brought an
other six months’ sentence to
Fulton county jail in 1898.
Since that time he has been be
fore Judge Newman three times
for the same offense, once being
acquitted. Because of lack of ev
idence two cases were nol prossed.
Christian took his sentence stol
idly, as if he had grown callous to
jails and sentences in the expe
rience he has had.

A WORD TO WEAK MEN.
1 cannot too strongly impress
upon you what distressing condi
tions are sure to follow unless you
take prompt steps to correct the
slightest irregularity of this kind.
Spots before your eyes, failing
memory, pimples, weak back, etc.,
etc., are sure indications of ap
proaching weakness, which will
result in complete loss of man
hood. I have cured more weak
men snd restored them to the full
strength and vigor of their youth
than any ten other physicians in
the south, I give each case the
careful, thorough attention neces
sary, and my treatment never fails
to effect a perfect cure of young,
j old, or middle aged men. I have
cured hundreds of patients at their
own homes; write me for symptom
blanks and book. All correspon
