RESOLUTIONS, Odlj a few days ago, and our bright, sweet, and lovely little companion, Ruby Vaughan, was a member ol our band of schoolmates, joined with us in all of our pleasures, occupied with us in all our la bors and sharing with us our happiness and onr love. To day, with sorrowful hearts we have paid our last tribu.e ol love, and have seen her body deposited in its last resting plac \ for the silver chord has been loosed. The golden bowl is broken and her spirit has returnod to God who gave it. Safe iu the arms of Jesus, Safe oil His gentle br. ast, There, by his love o’er shaded, Sweetly >ny soul shall rest. Editor. —l saw ir the issue of the 13 1 h, an article on “Stock Law," by Mr Fence, He says the pbopie should consider carefully before voting. Now, Mr. Feneet I say the same. You say the elec tion has » tendency to keep up strife. If the stock breaking in on your neighbor’s cornfieild don’t create strife between neighbors, nothing else will. You say that stock law might do if adopted by the county, thereby saving the cost of fencing. Now, what is the cost of fencing the district to keeping up the fence around your faam. The people of Roikbridge District cannot fence their forms without fencing lhem with pine brush. They have cut all their rail trees to bui'd the fences that we now have, and they keep the undergrowth cut down to make yokes for the mischievous cows. Mr. Fence, will you tell me the condition of your farm and fences, and the height of your fences and if the stock at large does not cross them, and if they are sufficient to turn all the stock at large. It sc, ’did you split the rails or not? You harp about Bay Creek tax, which is 45 cents on the hundred dollars. It will cost you fifty cenis to get the rails split to build ten pam.els'of fence. The expense of fencing your farm will exceed the expense of fencing the district You say the people of Gwinnett do not need the stock law. I say so too. The uper part of the coun ly ie owned by large laud holders, while Rockbridge district is owned by small farmers. Two thirds of the district is fenced new, and if we had the stock law we could save half of the fence. If the stock can live outside, why not live on the same land fenced in sot a past lire 1 , , Now, Mr. Fence, you see you will have the same laud to pasture with the stock law that you have without it This district is bounded on one side by Rockdale amt on the other by DeKalb, and the lines for two or three miles have to keep up their stock and fence too, and nothing to fence with bnt pine saplings that lightning could not split. So now come over on the Lord’s side andj vote for Stock Law. G. W, Furoerson. Yard wide sheeting scts, at Ad man d & Co. Jeans from loots upwards at A 1 maud & Ce.
