The year 1908 has expired. The

It wus a year long to be remem

will show on the last great day, that
all have done evil, and we can- but
hope that it will be over balanced
with good. One would always do
good but for the fact that “evil is
ever present with us,” ;
The new year 1909 may have joy
in store for us, and it may have sor
row, What will its record be?
Who can tell? But life is what we
make’ ity “for whatsoever a 2 man
soweth that shall he also reap.”
’We should brighten this new yeari
‘ with noble deeds and pure thoughts,
to live and act so as to encourage|
our fellow man and pluck the thorns
that fall in his pathwey, Remem
iber that the golden rule is ths price
