Mr. Uley Stokes, son of Mr. J
J. Stokas, was given an excellent
discharge from the U.S army at
Douglass, Arizona, July 31st, Uley
has served two enlistments and
says he is now entirely satisfied.
He reached home Friday and is en
joying a resting spell,

carcasses of beef to Waycross
last Thursday by express, This is

JIM TODD’S LAST FIGHT

Kyler Johns shot him to death
Sunday afternoon, with Todd’s
own shot gun loaded with buck
shot. The scene of the kiliing was
near Racepond, across the Pierce
county line at John’s home, ;
It seems Johns, who married the
sister of Todd, was separated from
his wire and jrouble sprung up be
tween the two men over it. Todd
insisting that if Johns did not take!
his wife home he would kill Johns
Thus the matter stood Sunday.
