Feb. 1. dressed woman of the to' small city who pr des hersel the up-to-date fashion ofj clothes and on the fact th buys them in some big G city from a department, flamboyantly displaying it: i3 and New York address, ” be surprised to know that sol of the best dressed women o modern means in that same city do not buy their coats and suits and dresses from high-priced department stors, but go to the small cities and obtain selections equally as good for much less money. It is ?hs same old story-the same old trait of human nature that fondly imagines it can buy better and do better away from home. With the fashionable dres ser of the town or small city it it is that- but witn the well dressed woman of moderate means in the big city it is a-colc- blooded business. She has d s covered that the merchants n small towns have just as good quality and style in their hats, shoes, suits and coats as the high priced merchants with the gor- geus department in hig-rent districts.
