DOUGLAS COUNTY SENTINEL, DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA.
Important Letter. Reao
It.
Birmingham, Ala. Feb. 19.
Dr. T. R. Whitley, State Direc
tor, Bankhead Highway Associa
tion,
Douglasville, Ga.
Dear Doctor:—
I was delighted to have had
the pleasure of meeting you at
the Conference in Atlanta ofi
Feb. 9th and 10th. Also t:<hear
the earnest speech that you
made at that meeting.
I am writing to urge you as
the Director for the State of
Georgia to urge the people in the
five counties between Atlanta
and the Alabama line to join this
organization. Hope that you
will see to it that we secure at
least one hundred members from
the town of DougLisville. We
would rather have ope hundred
members from your town than
to have a check of $100.00 from
some prominent citizen. Your
county is not organized. Mr- V-
R. Smith, Vice President of your
county, gave a check of $25.00
to our Treasurer, which we sup
pose represents twenty-five mem
bers, but we have no report in
regard to the Same. Wont you
please see him and you all get up
as many members as you can.
We want a large and enthusiastic
delegaiion from your county.
The basis of representation is one
delegate tor each ten members
For vour information, would
state that a delegation lias al
ready commenced to work to tiy
to route the highway via Gads
den, Rome to Atlanta. You can
see that it is very important that
you people get busy. The fact
of the business is that every
town and county from Anniston,
Ala,, on to Atlanta must get
busy to get this road. A good
many of us are lavorable to your
route, but if a larire delegation
comes to the Birmingham meet-,
ing on April 19th, and present'
their claims and have^enough 1
votes to wield an influence a-
gainst you, you can see it would
be fatal to your route. I am
writing tins letter to you from
the fact that you are one of the
officers of the national associa
tion and as deeply interested in
this highway as I am. Hope we
will hear from you very soon and
that you will see that a good list
of members is sent in very soon.
With high regards, I am

Why Not Have
Perfect Lenses?
Improvements and better
ments in glasses are just as
frequent as in anything else.
Until a few years ago all
lenses were flat, because no
one had thought of a better
way to make them.
Today nearly 90 per cent of-
lenses fitted are Toric lenses,
curved to follow the shape of
the eyeball.
Tories give a perfect range of vis-
ion from every angle—the edges do
not confuse you when looking from
the corner of the eye.
Let us demonstrate the many ad
vantages of Tories made by us.
