That weather man in Atlanta
ought to be taken off of his job j
and sent to school to be taught
how to guess about the weather.
Any old woman in Douglas can
beat that fellow guessing. When
lie says it is going to rain, look
for dry weather; if he says there
will be a blizzard here tomorrow,
look for a spring-like day, His
name sounds like a son of the
liaises, and it may be that he
don’t care how badly he beats
the Americans. Just one day
last week he said it would be
“fair tomorrow,” Billie Stamps
hooked up his mules to his wagon
and went to Douglasville and
was drowned three times before
he got back home. Now his
good wife is threatening to sue
the State tor Billie iooi.;.. A 4*

Prof. Shackelford psssed by

Judge Bartlett went over to

A peculiarity of deaf cats is that
they seem to have a very great sense
cf feeling in their feet pads. It ia
almost an impossibility for a heavy
animal to approach a deaf cat from
behind without giving it warning, and
this may be attributed to the'extreme
sensitiveness of the cat’s foet record
ing the slightest tremor of the
ground.

I’m mighty glad I was born a real South
erner. Just suppose I had been an Eskimo,
or an Indian, or something with rings in
my nose and ears!
Yes, sir—I am good and proud of my
Southern birth. My mother is from Vir
ginia and my father is from the Carolinas.
I was born and raised down here among
you all.
I wish you could see my home—it is so
clean and bright and cheery and whole
some—the finest, whitest, healthiest tobacco
factory in all the world.
I am called SOVEREIGN—King of Them
All! But my middle name is Smoke,
friend—and all over the South my loyal
friends are with me, because
You Folks of the South KNOW good blood!
