Our farmers would like to see
a little “Bone Dr.y” weather.
Swat every fly you see now
and later there wont be many to
swat.
A few hundred flies swatled
now will prevent millions later
on.
Well, anyway, rice hasn’t ad
vanced much. But who wants
rice? We’re no Chime.
Farmers should plant the limit
in food crops this year—and then
plant some more.
Some people think Biennial
ses-ions of the legislature would
be better, but vour Uncle Nat
seems to prefer it semi-annually.
A fashion note says the pre
vailing style for the summer will
probably be shorter skirts and
lower necked dresses. G-o o-d

In ouropinion, Blackturn made
an ass of himself in his ellort to
inaugurate Hugh Dorsey at this
session.—Douglas Enterprise.
Always something for a poor
man to be thankful for. Ti e
rich have'to buy tags for ante
mobiles and dogs and the poor
for the dog only.
Gov. Harris signed the “Bone
Dry,, bill Wednesday night and
it went into effect immediately.
Georgia is now the dryest slate
in the Union.

Miss Beatrice Garett has the
measles. Hope she will soon re
cover.
The singing school closed at
this plac^Saturdav night with a
large attenuflftce and some fine
singing.
Joe Jones and family of Atlan
ta, spent the week end with his
parents here.
Miss Odella McDonald of At
lanta, spent Sunday With Miss
Cliff McDonald.
The singing given by Misses
McDonald Sunday night was en
joyed by a host of their friends.
Quite a number ot people from
this section attended the singing
at Union Grove Sunday evening.
One by one our delusions are
shattered. We used to hear the
sage advice of the economist tell
us to “eat dried apples for break
fast, drink water for dinner, and
swell up for supper.” But the
impossibility of any economy in
the menu can be seen when we
remember that apples are five
cents each. Economy! Fortu
nately the fellow who coined that
word is dead, and has no means
of knowing what a delusion it is
today.
