Johnston of Win3ton, was in Douglasville Monday. Mrs. N. D. Burton was an At lanta visitor Saturday. W. H. Hudson of McWhorter, was here Saturday. Miss Nannie Love Selman was an Atlanta visitor Tuesday. * Our last week’s honor roll was crowded out but it appears this week. Miss Lillian Dake spent the week end in Atlanta .with h&r mother, who is at the Sanitarium. Hon. A. R. Dodson of Buchan an, former editor of the Tribune, spent Monday here on business, J. J. Kirby, who is -spending some time in Macon, came home for the week end. Miss Olive Balis, after eight weeks’ illness in Wesley Hospital returned home last Saturday, Mrs. W. D. Styles left Tues day for Boaz, Ala., to the bed' side of her sister, Mrs. Carne3. The new Board of Trustees or ganized this week, electing M E. Geer Chairmen, and J. T, Duncan Secretary & Treasurer, B. F. Roland happened to the ^serious accident of getting his “Miss Fearless & Co.” the play given by the Senior class Monday evening, drew a large crowd. A neat sum was realized and the audience highly enter- ined. The class Vill go to Tal lapoosa Friday bight and give the play there. The Band Concert last Thurs day night was well attended and was thorughly enjoyed by the large audience. A number of splendid selections were rendered by the band and the reading by Miss Vera Morgan, the playing of Miss Marie Davis and the singing of Miss Edith - Dake were enjoyable features of the evening. House is reported to be doing nicely after a success ful operation at Davis-Fischer Sanitarium. Friends of Mrs. H. M. Upshaw will be glad to know she is im proving from her recent serious accident. Several items are carried over till next week, to make room for the County Audit and Grand Jury Presentments. Mrs! Carl Hoffman of Charles ton, S. C., is spending some time with her mother, Mrs. J. M. Baggett. Miss Flora Blalock had as her guests Sunday, her mother,-her sisters, Misses Lizzie Mae and Gertrude, and her uncle, Hon, A. C. Blalock, all of Jonesboro Dr. and Mrs. D. Houseworth and daughter, Miss Mary, motored to Monroe Sunday and spent the day with Miss Hattie, who is in school there.
