Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Upshaw motored to Atlanta Wednesday. J. N. Griffith of McWhorter, was in Douglasville Tuesday. Dr. and Mrs. F. M. Stewart were Atlanta visitors Thursday The May-Day Festival as ar ranged by Miss Marie Davis, was a splendid affair and drew a large crowd. A complete ac count will be given next week. Major M. J. Mills of Atlanta was here Wednesday to atend the annua! Stockholders meet ing of the Farmers and Merch ants Bank. Mrs. P. Y. McCarley is re ported quite sick this week. Miss Marion Upshaw has re turned home after an extended visit jn Atlanta. Miss Frankie Bridwell came home from Atlanta for the week end. Hon. J. T. Duncan was elected a member of the Executive Council <*f the Country Bankers Association at the meeting in Macon last week. Mrs. G. H, Turner had as a week end guest, her sister, Mrs Moore, of Atlanta. Mrs. Warner Nalley of Fitzs gerald, was the guest this week of Mrs, R. E. Hamilton, Rev. J. 0. Grogan of Opelika, Ala., will preach the Commence ment sermon for the Douglas ville High School this year. He has many friends here who will be glad of - another opportunity to hear him. Misses Louise Duncan, Sarah Meadows, Mattie Luck, Cora Hogan, Vera Morgan and Lois Ballough were among those at tending Grand Opera last week. W. M. Richardson of Winston was a pleasant caller at the Sentinel office Tuesday. Miss Mildred Selman of Deca tur has been here with home folks for a few days. Miss Rose Abercrombie has returned to Agnes Scott College after a pleasant visit at home, J. M, Banks and daughner Mfts ChlotHde were in Atlanta Tuesday. Commissioner’s court met in regular session Tuesday, attend* to routine business. For an evening of fun, go lo the “Old Maid’s Convention " next Thursday night. Mrs. P. D.
