Social and Personal Miss Nannie Love Selman was an Atlanta visitor this week. ^ Born Sunday, to Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Baggett, a son. F. F. Cheek was an Atlanta visitor this week. Attend the Old Maid Conven tion tonight. Misses Edith Hunter and Ethel McKinley were shopping in At lanta Wednesday. Mrs. Henry Clark and daugh ter, Miss Ruth, were in Atlanta Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. N, B. Duncan were Atlanta visitors Wednes day. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Duncan of Atlanta, visited Mr. and Mrs. J T. Duncan Thursday. W. J. Hall of Villa Rica was in Douglasville a short while Wednesday. Miss Ava Duncan of Rome, is visiting her sister, Miss Lottie Duncan. R. M. Aderholdt of Temple, visited his daughter, Miss Opal, who is reported quite sick, this week. Miss Sallie Mae Hamrick has returned to her home at College Park, after a pleasant visit with Mrs. P. D. Selman. Rev. and Mrs. T. J. Branson and Mr. and Mrs. Howell of Villa Rica, were in Douglasville this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Selman of Atlanta, have been spending several days here with their par ents, Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Selman. An entnusiastic meeting was ^ held at the Court House Wednes day afternoon relative tP the Bankhead Highway. T. D. Pickell, superintendent of the Douglas Hosiery Mills, is in Philadelphia attending the Hosiery Mills Convention. Mayor V. R. Smith made a ^/business trip this week to Wash ington, Philadelphia and New York. Henry Clark who has been the Georgia Baptist Sauitarium for several weeks returned home Wednesday. Prof. B. B Bea'l requests us to announce there will be ,an all day singing, with preaching at eleven at Sweetwater church Sunday, May, 13th. / Dr. and Mrs., 0. A. Selman and two children of Summerville, spent the week end here with their parents? Mr. and Mrs. T, H. Selman. Mr, and Mrs. A. B. Bagwell and Miss Grace Hamilton of Villa Rica, were guests last week of Mrs. M. E. Ward, and Miss Grace Morris. Carrollton and Bowden were in Douglasville Thursday about 100 strong in the interest of the Bankhead Highway. They are putting up a strong fight for the road. July 1st is the time set for Douglasville to get free mail de livery. The sidewalks must be put in shape and houses nunjjier- ed before the inspector come3. We must get busy or we will not be able to secure this. Past Master Lee Duncan, Wor shipful Master John W. Bach man, with their team from Gate City Lodge F. & A. Picked. Mr. Picked, who is superintendent of the Hosiery Mills at Douglas ville, Ga., came up Sunday. His friends were delighted to see him looking so well.
