DOUGLAS COUN AN ORDINANCE Bg It ordained by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Douglasviile: That as s on as practicable after the passage of this ordinance under the amendment to the charter of Douglas yille, Ga., passed by the General As sembly of the state of Georgia, ap proved August 21st, 1996, the Mar shall of said town, under {he super vision of the Street Committee there- -of, shall cause to be repaved with ce ment the following parts of streets of raid town, to-wit: The sidewalk upon the south side of Broad Street In said tov/n, running east and west between the following points on street, Vi4; From tfee west side of N, B, & ,1. T. Duncan’s store to the cast side of the W. T. Roberts building. ( That in repaving said sidewalk the material used shall be cement. That for tilt: necessary expense for material, cost of any nature, labor and the like in repaving said sidewalk, the Mayor and Council of said town do hereby have power to assess and levy against the owners of such land and the land itself as may front upon or abut upon the sidewalk affected by this ordinance, the entire cost of re paving said sidewalk as may front or abut upon said sidewalk against each owner of land so fronting dr abutting'. The Mayor and Council of said town shall nssess the amount due , by each property owner whose property is af fected by the oidinance and cause the Clerk of Council of said town to collect from each of said property owners the percentage fixed by the Mayor and Council so soon as the work contem plated by this ordinance has been com pleted. , • That so soon as the assessment against the property owners as afore said has been made by the Mayor and Council, the Clerk of Council Bhall dc- ’ mand of the property owners, who arc subject to the said assessmentso made lor repaving with, cement the sum as- se-sed against each, and if any shall fail or refuse to pay an execution shall lie issued as other tax executions are issued, and be enforced by the Mar- snail of said town in the same way as (.i dinary tax executions of said town are enforced.
