DOUGLAS COUNTY SENTINEL, DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA \ Social and Personal Mrs, Addie Forsythe is visiting relatives at Arlington, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Seltnan were Atlanta visitors Tuesday. Henley Hutcheson, of Georgia Tech, spent the week-end with homefolks. Mrs. B. F. Shamlin, of Lyerlv, is a guest of her daughter, Mrs. Thad McKoy. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Almond have as guests their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Almond. Hubert Winn, of Birmingham, is here for a few days with Lis mother, Mrs. J. F. Winn. The friends of Dr. Houseworth are glad to know that he is able to resume his office practice. Three daughters of G. W. Turner, of Chapel Hill, were bitten by a mad dog Tuesday. Floyd Watson, of Cochran, spent a short time here Sunday with his father, M. B. Watson. Hon. J. T. Duncan attended the National Bankers Association at Atlantic City, N. J., this week. Col. John H. Hudson, a promi nent lawyer of Villa Rica, atten ded court here both last week and this. Mrs. R, S. Maneely arrived Tuesday to join Dr. Maneeley, who is in charge of the Whitley Pharmacy. Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Selman and daughters, Misses Nannie Love and Ruth, were Atlanta visitors Wednesday. Miss Opal Duncan, Mrs. J. R. Duncan and little daughter, Vir ginia, visited Mrs. W. B. Estes in Atlanta this week. A man from South Georgia was here Saturday buying sec ond-hand Fords. We understand he took quite a drove away with him. The many friends of Prof. H. O. Williamson will be glad to learn he has been elected princi pal of the Yauco High School in Porto Rico. J. W. McKinley, who has a large painting and decorating contract at Opelika, Ala., spent a few days this week with his family here. There will be singing at Cen tral next Sunday afternoon led by Prof. V. M. Leathers and others.. Everybody invited to come and bring books. Dr. J. W. Lowery, of Villa Rica, was in Douglasville this week and said he had failed to get his Sentinel recently and couldn’t do without it. We hope it will reach him promptly hereafter. We extend a cordial invitation to the people of Lithia Springs Winston, and in fact all Douglas countians. to attend the opening of the Lyceum Course next Tuesday night. Prices 25c and 15c. Rev. J. C. Atkinson and daugh ter, Miss Johnnie, left Douglas ville Monday. Brother Atkinson to enter upon his war duties as secretary of the Y. M. C. A. work at Paris Island. Miss Johnnie will spend some time with her sister, Mrs, McDaniel, in Atlanta. All the members of the Doug lasville Baptist church are asked to be present Sunday morning at 11 o’clock for a conference to elect delegates to the association also to ele t officers of the church for the coming year. All come that can do so, as this is a very important meeting. Don’t forget the first of the Lyceum entertainments will be next Tuesday night at the Col lege Auditorium. The Winona Entertainers are fine.
