DOUGLAS COUNTY SENTINEL, DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA Georgia Gold Mines Atlanta, Ga., September 27.— Georgia gold ranks s cond amoug the Eastern States, a fact which is probably not generally known, butwhieu is vouched for by no less an authority than the United States Bureau of Mines in a re port on the gold production of all the states in the Union. Up to the time gold was discovered in California, Georgia led the coun try in the production of the pre cious metal. In the last twelve months the production of Geor gia gold, as stated above, ranked second among the states in the eastern section of the country. From the earliest recorded his tory of the Spanish explorers down to date, Georgir’s moun tains and streams have abounded in the yellow metal.
