DOUGLAS COUNTY SENTINEL, DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA Social and Personal S Work is progressing; nicely on the new hosiery mill. Mrs. P. M. Winn, Jr.; was an Atlanta visilor Monday. Mrs, N. B. Duncan is spending the week-end in Atlanta. Sandford Land was up from Camp Wheeler for the week end. Mrs. G. M. Edwards has been visiting relatives in Austell this week, Miss Lessie Burson has retur ned from a week’s visit to Atlanta. Miss Louise Upshaw cann home from Bessie Tift for the week end. Roy James of the old 5th Reg- * intent, visited relatives here this week. Mrs. S 0. York, of Atlanta, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs. D. W. Peace. Lieut. G. H. Turner has been Transferred from Fprt Oglethorpe 10 Fort Meade, Md. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Thomas and Col. and Mrs. Astor Merritt motored to Atlanta Monday. Miss Jeannette Morris is spen ding the week with friends in Atlanta and Macon this week. W. M Morris and children Y motored to the fair in Atlanta ast week in their new Overland. Mrs. M. E. Farmer came up last week from St. Petersburg Fla. and wilt spend the winter here. All hunters must have license. Tne law requires me to enforoe this. So take warning. H. P. . Sibley. Col. Alvin L. Richards and family, of Atlanta, spent the -week-end with his uncle, Mr W. ' T. Barron. Will be at Farmers & Mer chants Bank to collect tax every Saturday till December 7. R. C. Mo ris, T. C. Chariie Light, a former Doug las countian, died in Atlanta Saturday. The remains were shipped to Doughs/file Sunday morning and carried to Pray’3 church for interment. McCarley’s Miss Lizzie Mae Campbell, of Stephens, Ga., was a week-end visitor oi Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Edwards this week. Work Is progressing nicely on Col. Merriti’s residence onJCamp- bellton street under the foreman- ship of J. W. Rice. Mrs. Mary Thomas, of Gaine.- ville, Fla., arrived Monday to spend several weeks with her sister, Mrs. E. B. McWhorter. R. S. Duncan, who voluntei j several months ago for service in the Quartermaster’s Department was called to service this week. Miss Marjorie Upshaw, who came home from Bessie Tift sev eral days ago on account of sick ness, is reported still indisposed. Dake & McLarty will announce some important real estate deals in the next few days. If you have property to sell list it now. All Boy Scouts are urged to be at the Sentinel office 15 min utes before 1 o’clock Saturday. There is some important work for them to do. Everybody come and hear Senator Andrews and Hon. Cam Dorsey speak at the court house Saturday at 1 o’clock. Ladies especially invited. The friends of Miss Olive Bal- lis will be glad to know that she is doing well at an Atlanta hos pital after having undergone an operation jastThursday.
