Raise Hogs
Atlanti, Ga.. N yember 7.—
(Special.)—It is going to be im
possible to overproduce hog meat
for the next five or ten years to
come. This is the firm convic
tion of the Georgia Department
of Agriculture .and its advice is
that farmers everywhere act
upon it and grow more hogs.
The world is right now reduced
to half rations on animal fats and
is freely using vegetable substi
tutes. Production has been
quite alarmingly reduced in
the warring nations, which are
depending upon us for their sup
ply. We must grow our own
supply of animal fats and, at the
same time, fill the wants of the
Allies.
“This indicates conclusively,”
said Commissioner J. J. Brown,
‘‘that it it is going to bo practi
ca'ly impossible to have an over-
pro luotion of meat products and
a umal fats for many j ears to
come, even though terms of
peace should be made at cn.ee
"For this reason the Depart
ment is putting forth extraordi
nary efforts to suppress hog
cholera and in every other way
to encourage the greater produc
tion of hogs.
“The splendid work of the
Boys’ Pig Clubs cf Georgia, as
demonstrated in their exhibition
at the Southeastern Fair, and
> d under the supervision of
James E. Downing of the Stale
College of Agriculture, is con-[
vincing beyond the shadow of a
doubt that Georgia should be
second to no state in the produc-|
tion of hogs. No better medium priced cafe in the city. • Stop and try
At the present prices and at I a meal and vou’ll Come again. We serve only the best of
the good prices which are sure to 1 everything ”
