DOljGLAS COUNTY SENTINEL, DOUGLAS Y1LLE. GA.
STUDENTS ARE ENROLLING BY THE SCORE
MISS LEILA GOODMAN.
MisBes Goodman and Goodwyn Make
Fine School Record and are Placed
in Nice Positions.
Established 51 years ago, the South
ern Shorthand an Business Universi
ty, Atlanta, Ga., enjoys the distinc
tion of being not only the oldest, but
the most largely patronized business
school south of Baltimore.
Young people are now enrolling by
the score for business courses, more
than 300 young men and young women
being in attendance at this time, which
is more than the combined attendance
of all the other business schools of
Atlanta.
Isn’t that a significant fact?
The above are two recent graduates
Of the SOUTHERN. They were
ptrangers to each other when they
came. They entered one day apart,
industriously spent four months in the
SOUTHERN, became close compan
ions, and left the school one day
apart. Each went to a good position,
which the managers of the Southern
Secured for them. They were loved
by the students and teachers alike, and
were affectionately known as “The
Two Goodies.’’ Their letters below
are very interesting, especially to
those who may be contemplating tak
ing a business course:
GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION.
Come let us return unto the Lord
for he has torn and he will heal us;
he has smitten and he will bind us up.
After two days, he will revive us; in
the third day he will raise us up and
we shall live in his sight. Then shall
we know the Lord in the third day.
A day is as a thousand years with
the Lord.
The Savior lay in the grave three
days, each day was a thousand yeays.
Two thousand years or two days, have
nearly expired. When the present
century expires, the third day be
gins—the time for the Lord to raise
us up and heal us. The third day is
the Judgement, Millenium, or Rsurec-
tion, the time for the saints to judge
the world; the time when God will
wipe away all tears from all faces;
the time when the Creator will have
a feast of fat things in store for his
1 creatures; the time when the spirit
and the bride will say: “Corns;” ami
whosoever will let him take of the
water of life freely; the time when
the people will say, “Come, let us go
up to the mountain of the house of
the Lord and he will teach us of his
ways, and we will walk in His paths;
the time when the meek will inherit
| the earth and delight themselves in
the abundance of peace; the time when
every valley shall be filled and every
mountain and hill shall be made low;
the rough shall be made smoothe and
the croked shall be made straight and
all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
A mountain represent a govern
ment; a hill a subordinate government
and a valley represents the poor peo
ple. It is the time referred to when
the Lord said: “Behold, oh my peo
ple, 1 will open your graves and cause
!you to come up out of your graves
and wiil place you in your own land
u::d you shall no more me plucked up.
,Then you shall know that I, the Lord
chool of its kind in Dixie. have s P okan ‘t an ‘> performed it.”

Southern Shorthand and Business
University, Atlanta, Ga.:
Gentlemen—When 1 was .asked by
several acquaintances which school I
expected to atend, and I replied, “The
Southern Shorthand and Business Uni
versity,” they remarked, “That is the
good school in Atlanta about which
we hear so much.” And it is surely a
good school, with exceptional facili
ties, a large and enthusiastic teach
ing Btaff, etc.
I entered the SOUTHERN one day
after my friend, Miss Elizabeth Good
wyn, of Gay, Ga., entered; spent four
months in school and accepted a nice
position with the Mitchell Manufac
turing Company, which the school ob
tained for me the next day after Miss
Goodwyn went to work, a singular cp-
incidencc: but it shows that your p-u-
pils are in demand by the business
men. Everybody knows, however,
that the SOUTHERN is the greatest
advice as to a REAL GOOD BUSI
NESS SCHOOL.
| The SOUTHERN'S quarters and
equipment are unupproaehed in the
j entire South.
I Elevators, steam heat electric fans,
i large study rooms and automatic
sprinkler system combine to insure
comfort, convenience and safety for
students. Now is the most opportune j
time for beginning a business or
; shorthand course. The demand for
I stenographers and bookkeepers is un-
j precedented in the history of this
country.
j Enter now. Handsome catalouge on
request.
