HOW ABOUT YOUR $54.56?
MONEY TO LOAN.
Am now prepared to negotiate
loans on first-class farms at 6%
It is significant, that in the war
period the money in circulation in .
the United States has increased i interest- Also funds in Local
from $35.00 per capita to $54.56. | Bank to legd on farm and city
The explanation for this remark
able change in less than five years
found in the fact that, the
United States reejeved' a billion
dollars gold from Europe, while
Federal Reserve notes against Lib
erty Bonds have been issued to the
aminount of more than another mil
lion dollars; and during this per
iod the bank de|>osits have been
increased more than three billion
dollars by loans against Liberty
Bonds. -
In view of these facts it is eei>
tain that there can be no reduc
tion of wages in the near future-
ii(l most certa'inly not until the cost
of living has subsided to such a
oint that reduced payments for
labor wil give the workmen as
nnv <>F the neessities and com
forts of life as he is v-
for larger money wage.
The conclusion, even though it
may lie an unpleasant one to con
template, indicates that higher
price levels are her to stay. In the
fade of this condition we find ever
public utility in the United States
(inducting its affairs on the nor-
rowest margin known in its his
tory. Food, as has been shown
in these articles, is at least 75 per
cent above what it was six years
ago. Lighting companies and st
reet railways’ have made the very
smallest advances in their charges
of any business or industry; and
local officials have held up theRe
enterprises on the ground that
they were bound by frachise ar
rangements, and that after the war
the-le.ss the readjustment processes
show that the results will be other
wise. It is very reasonable to pre
sume that the rail roads and the
wire lines restored to private man
agement, wil go into markets to
make tremoundous purchases
material needed' to bring enter
prises up to their old normal'atan-'

YOUR THOUGHTS
Do you know your thoughts rule
your life?
Be they pure or impure in the
strife. ( ,
As you think, so you are;
And you make or you mar
Your success in the world
By your thoughts.
Are your thoughts just and true
every 'hour?
Then your life will attest with
great power.
If it’s love fills your heart,
Then all hate must depart.
Yon will find all success in good,
thought.
Are you kind in your thoughts to
ward all?
Then hut kindness'to you must fall.
As yon sow, so you reap.
In a measure so deep,
Either pleasure or pain
By your thoughts.
