Providence is certainly better to us than the weather man.
The latter has ordered two recent cold waves for us and the
former is still allowing us to go without overcoats and wraps.

steps to build a paper mill with a sufficient capacity to supply

I Just as we are getting rid of the cattle tick, we are getting
the boll weevil, but we hope he will not remain with us as long as
the tick did. •’
We have several subscribers who are getting slightly bc-
Jiind. Look at your label and if your time is out, attend to it
at once. Uncle Sam says we must not send out papers over
three months in arrears.
Francisco Villa is reported captured, but if it requires as
many captures as deaths to get rid of him, we II still be hearing
from him.
If the Senate has the interest of the people half as much at
heart as they have party politics, it will make some disposition
of the League proposition. We believe it should be adopted,
but any kind of action is better than none.

Soiling of the Bankhead Highway is progressing nicely
nd the road is fine. More soil is'needed through town than has
yet been donated. Anyone having property should gladly give
soil as the contractors will plow the land up good and deep and
leave it in better shape than they find it.
Douglasville merchants have a splendid line of holjday
goods as well as staples. Watch the advertising columns of the
Sentinel and do our shopping with the advertisers and you’ll
make no mistake. The fellow who doesn't invite you to trade
with him, evidently hasn’t much confidence in what he has to
sell you.
The Rockmart News quotes Mr. J. M. Smallwood’s po
tato story we published recently, but goes us one better and tells
of a Polk county farmer digging a potato that was a perfect
“goose.” We are afraid to tell about Mr. Smallwood s corn
crop, for we don’t know what out contemporary would have
to dig up to beat tfiat,
r It is being talked that, the Dougiasyille cotton buyers are
paving considerably less than some of the surrounding towns —
one man claiming he got five cents more for his cotton in a
neighboring town than he was offered here. We doubt the
..truthfulness of these reports for we believe in the integrity of
' of our buyers, but the report is hurting Douglasville a'nd should
be corrected by our buyers.

BRISCOE
The Car of Contentment
i The Briscoe owner enjoys his car. He can see the milage
mount up without Worrying over excessive gasoline costs. He
can take bad spots with every jar absorbed by the easy springs.
The Sturdy motor makes light work of hills or sand. And the
car itself carries class in every line.
Many cars offer you some of the things you get in a
Briscoe. But the Briscoe gives you everything you want in a
car—and many features you only hoped for.
