Mrs. S. S. Perkins was an Atlanta
visitor Monday.
Miss Hattie Houseworth has been
quite sick this week.
Mrs. J. W. Hollis is reported quite
sick at this writing.
Mr. Floyd House is placing brick
for a new bungalow on Bowdon "St.
Mr. L. S. Hallman, of Douglasville,
is a new reader of the Sentinel.
Mr. J. F. Long has our thanks for
B renewal subscription this week.
We thank Mr. W. C. Dickenson, of
Rt 4, for a renewal subscription.
Mrs. Z. T. Dake and daughter, Miss
Edith, attended the Schumann-Heink
concert in Atlanta Monday night.
Rev. and Mrs. W. M. Suttles and
little daughter visited in in Atlanta
this week.
Mr. T. L. Pittman left last week for
an extended visit with relatives in
Texas.

Mrs. W. F. Wright died at the age of
72 last Friday morning, at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Thomas,
in Douglasville. While her 'health
had not been trood since the death of
j her husband, little over a year ago,
J she had been confined to her bed only
j a few days,
| She was a most estemiable woman
and leaves a large circle of friends to

Mr. J. H. Longino was in from the
river Wednesday and said the Chat
tahoochee was the highest within his
recollection of about twenty years.
Mrs. J. T. Hunt and Mrs. T. D.
. Selman, of Birmingham, are visiting
their mother, Mrs. M. G. Butler, of
Bright Star.
Mrs. J. T. Duncan and daughter,
Miss Eouise, have gone to New York
to spend Christmas with Mr. W. C.
Duncan.

Mrs. P. D. Selman entertained the
Matrons’ Club last Saturday after
noon in a most delightful manner.

On last Sunday Judge J. H. Mc-
Darty performed the ceremonies which
united in marriage Mr. I. A. Gordon
and Miss Daisey Weathington. Also
Mr. OHie Thomas and Miss Gertrude
TJearden, all popular young people
of Douglas county.
County Agent, Mr. J. E. Cheatham,
requests us to state that he is in
receipt of a message from the govern
ment officials that all nitrate of soda
has been sold sold, and those ordering
from here will not be able to get any
of it.

'FUNERAL OF MR; J. B. DORRIS
The funeral of Mr. J. B. Dorris, an
account of whose death appeared in
last week’s Sentinel, was held at tie
Methodist church last Friday after
noon, Rev. W. H. Clark conducting
the services.
A large crowd gathered to pay the
last tribute of respect to one'whom
they loved and respected, and the
many floral tributes were indicative
of the high esteem in which the de
ceased was held.
All members of the family were
present except one son, Mr. J, Q.
Dorris, who wgs in Texas, and could
not reach here for the funeral.
The remains were enterred in Doug-
Jasville cemetery with the ritualistic
ceremony of his Masonic brethren.
