ARMENIANS ARE DOWNNTRODDEN
SAYS HRS. IDA MgGIONE GIBSON
Mrs Ida McGlone Gibson, wellknown
writer and speaker, who spent three
years in Europe during the period of
the war, visited Armenia last spring
and reiterates the statements made by
people who know that the Armenians
today are the most downtrodden and
brutalized people in the world, and
the most entitled to assistance.
“They have suffered so long, so
acutely and so continuously that they
are depleted in strength of spirit and
body.
“They have suffered more than any
other people, unless it is the Poles, and
I believe they are more hopeless and
helpless than any other,” states Mrs.
Gibson.
“I wish I could forget the Armen
ians as I saw them Inst spring, es
pecially the hundreds and thousands
of emaciated little children, with no
homes, no mothers, no fathers—no
one to look after them.
“Those people who did survive had
no hopes of a crop. Their lands were
devastated and ruined by the Turks,
and to raise a crop would not mean
( their living on it, but its immediate
confiscation by Turkish bands.'
j “I should say that these people need
actual care now, food and raiment
and a building up of their physical
: forces, so depleted by continued
starving.
| “The Serbians have had an un
disturbed harvest this year, and heyt
are temporarily unmolested, but the
! Armenians live day and night under
the shadow of the Turkish sword,
j "I should like to see American dj-
iploniacy accept the. mandatory over
conditions there, which would rid these
j Christian people of Turkish rule for-
ganizing the women of the civilized
nations in a concentrated movement
to help release the women of the Near
East from the state of servitude in
which they are.
“I believe that in regard to these
people we should apply the principles
of the brotherhood of man practically,
for I feel so keenly about them that
I am *my brother’s keeper.’”
BE HONEST AND FAIR
If you criticise be sure you’re right,
! know the conditions and facts, and
j have a remedy to back up your criti-
“I should like o see the women of
this country take the initiative in or-
eism. There is nothing more bene-
Ificial than just criticism and nothing
'more disgusting than plain knocking.

Take a Real Ride in theCleveland,
and You'll Know What a Car it Is
The Cleveland Six, the sensation of the year among
light sixes, is selling itself to thousands who use discrim
ination in picking out the car they want.
To attempt to describe the qualities
of the Cleveland Six is no easy task.
You must ride in it to know it. Take
a real ride and you begin to under
stand that here is a better light six,
very much better. It has an enclosed
over-head valve motor, of exclusive
Cleveland design and manufacture and
tested in road work for three years
before being offered the public, that
gives performance unsurpassed.
A real ride will show you, better than
can be told you, that the Cleveland
has power and pick-up and flexibility
and ease of driving that do not come
with many other cars. Low-hung
spring suspension and splendidly up
holstered cushions wipe out the road-
bumps. Beautiful body lines place
the Cleveland above the usual plane
in appearance. Upholstery is of
genuine hand-buffed leather.
Come let us show you what a car the Cleveland is

Preference for Buick Valve-tn-Head
motor cars becomes more pronounced
each season — and this favoritism
shown by the motor car purchaser of
today has taxed the Buick factory’s
production to the limit.
Thousands are contented to await
their turn in Buick deliveries—for
Buick performance, quality, service
and economy has completely won
their confidence.
