Low frocks and frills. Then doctors and pills.
Clean tip, paint up and cheer up, is a good motto for
spring.
The treaty is in politics, says an exchange. Quite so, and
Georgia gave it its first knockout.
Altogether for a cleaner Dougiasville, both from a moral
and sanitary standpoint.
They claim to have caught the fellow who cornered po
tatoes, but the guy who cornered sugar is still at large.
The Bolshevic selects his victims while the profiteer is no
respecter of persons. Which is the most dangerous menace?
The federal board of trade has made the startling dis
covery that food is high.
Ragman, spare that shirt—touch not a single hole! I’ll
wear it into threads and hang it on a pole.
Among the everyday nuisances is the fellow who calls
daily at the postoffice and never gets any mail, but is in the
way of those wiho do.
Added to all their other troubles, the republicans now
have Hoover on their hands.— Dawson News. Yes, and the
democrats are burdened with Bryan.
Ragman, spare that suit—touch not a single seam 1 T’ll
wear it till 1 get the gold I’m seeing in my dream.— Atlantal
Constitution.
Junkman, spare that shoe—touch not a single sole! I’ll
wear the thing until there’s nothing left but hole.— Dalton
Citizen.
Washington advices say that clothing will drop in price
by fall. But what about the fellow, about naked now, going
to do until then?
The time is almost here to execute the death sentence on
the Hy.— Dawson News. Another case of persecuting the
weak instead of the strong—for instance, the profiteer.
We have the first issue of the Social Circle New F'.ra
before us, with J. D. Winchested as editor. It is newsy and
neatly gotten up. We welcome it to our exchange table, as
well as wishing it much success.
NO ROOM FOR KNOCKERS
If you like to live in the kind of a town
Like the kind of a town you .like,
You needen’t slip your clothes in a grip
And start on a long, long hike;
You’ll only find what you’ve left behind,
For there’s nothing that’s really new,
It's a knock at yourself when you knock your town;— : .
It isn’t the town—it’s you. ' • ; '
Real towns aren’t made by men afraid, .
Else somebody forges ahead,
When everybody works and nobody shirks
You can raise a town from the dead;
And it while you make your personal stake
Your neighbor can make one, too,,- .
Y’our town will be whit you wajit to see—
It isn’t your town—it’s yVou.
A Community-Wide Policy
We believe in this community; we have faith
in the farmer, the merchant, the wage-earner and
we are willing to back up our faith with the fullest
measure of co-operation and service that a bank can
offer.

General Wood says, “The American people are as sound
as a nut.”—Peoria Transcript. Yes, General Wood will rea

as a political “has-been.”
There’s room in every town for the booster. We’ve a
welcome right here in Dougiasville for any of.them that want
to come in, hang up their hats and make this their home. But
there isn’t an inch of space in town we would care to have the
knocker feel we reserved for him. And right along this line,
tor the benefit of the man who is inclined to knock, we’re
going to print again a little poem almost every paper in the
nation has printed at one time or another. It is always good—
so for fear you never run across it again, clip.it and show it
to the knocker:
