HAD CHRONIC BRONCHITIS
FOR TWENTY-SIX YEARS
NOW WELLAND HAPPY
THIS IS WORTH READING
The experience of Mr. E. J. Tou*
palik, 1488 Rose street, LaCrosse,
Wisconsin, is chiefly remarkable
on account of the length of time
he waa afflicted.
Be writes: “I have been suf
fering with chronic bronchitis for
twenty-six years and every winter
I would catch cold and become so
hoarse I could not speak for six or
eight weeks. I could get only tem
porary relief.
“This winter I was taken with
Grip and was in awful shape. A
fellow workman advised me to take
PE-RU-NA. By the time 1 had
used three-fourths of a bottle, the
hoarseness was gone, also that
tired feeling. I am on my second
bottle. Hereafter PE-RU-NA will
be constantly in my house. It is
the best medicine ever put up for
the purpose."
For any disease due to catarrh
or catarrhal conditions, PE-RU-NA
is equally dependable. Coughs,
colds, catarrh of the head, stomach
trouble, constipation, rheumatism,
pains in the back, side and loins,
bloating, belching gas, indigestion,
catarrh of the large and small in
testines, are some of the troubles
for which PE-RU-NA is especially
recommended.
^E-RU-NA can be purchased
anywhere in either tablet or liquid
form.

Mr. Dodson, the “Liver Tone”
Man, Responsible for Change
for the Better.
Every druggist in town has noticed a
great falling off In the sale of calomel.
They all give the same reason. Dod
son’s Liver Tone Is taking its place.
"Calomel Is dangerous and people
know It.” Dodson’s Liver Tone Is per
sonally guaranteed by every druggist
who sells It. A large bottle doesn’t
cost very much, but if It falls to give
easy relief In every ca*e of liver slug
gishness and constipation, Just ask for
your money back.
Dodson’s Liver Tone Is a pleasant-
tastlng, purely vegetable remedy, harm
less to both children and adults. Take
a spoonful at night and wake up feel
ing fine; no biliousness, sick headache,
acid stomach or constipated bowels.
It doesn’t gripe or cause inconvenience
all the next day like violent calomel.
Take a dose of calomel today and to
morrow you will feel weak, sick and
nauseated. Don’t lose a day.—Adv.

victim cannot long withstand the health-
destroying effects of an acid stomach.
Good news for millions of sufferers.
Chemists have found a sure remedy-one
that takeB the ncid up and carries it out
of the body; of course, when the cause is
removed, the sufferer gets well.
Bloating, indigestion, sour, acid, gassy

Thousands Have Kidney

Applicants, for Insurance, Often .
Rejected.
Judging from reports from druggists
who are fconstantly in direct touch with
the public, there is one preparation that
has been very successful in overcoming
these conditions. The mild and healing
influence of Dr. Kilmer’s Swamp-Root is
soon realized. It stands the highest for
its remarkable record of success.
An examining physician for one of the
prominent Life Insurance Companies, in
an interview, on the subject, made the as*
tonishing statement that one reason why
so many applicants for insurance are re
jected is because kidney trouble is so
common to th‘6 American people,' and the
large majority of those whose applica
tions are declined do not even suspect
that they have the disease. It is on sale
at all drug stores in bottles of two sizes,
medium and large.
However, if you wish first to test this
great preparation send ten cents to Dr.

left 185 teachers who would have re
ceived more under the plan adopted
in May, still short of the quota to
which they would have been entitled
under the full salary schedule, on the
basis of which they will be paid after
September 1.
It was considered better by the
board to base increased compensation
to teachers .oil educational qualifica
tion and lengt of service rather than
grant a flat ralfc- Jo the teaching force.
Recently the teachers in the negro
schools, were given a flat increase of
15 a month. The plan adoptef for the
whitp teachers has not been applied
to the negro teachers, but Superin
tendent W. F. Dykes is working on a
similar plan of graduation for them
also, and. the board will pass on it
at a later date.

Would Preserve Okeflnokee Swamp
Atlanta. — Preservation as a per
manent government reservation of
Okeflnokee swamp, which covers 700
square miles in Southeastern Georgia,
is recommended in. a biological survey
of the U. S: department Of agricul
ture. Commercial interests bent on
removing timber from the swamp—
the last of the three great swamps on
the Atlantic seaboard—will destroy
it's primeval conditions unless action
is taken to perpetuate them, the report
states. An organization has been
formed by residents of Waycross, Ga.,
to raise funds to purchase the tract
and present it to the government as a
"national wild life refuge.” The swamp
is said to have “no counterpart any
where in the world.” Among the
fresh water swamps east of the Mis
sissippi it is exceeded in size only by
the Everglades.

Skeleton Of Man Near Bainbridge
Bainbridge. — A human skeleton of
a white man was discovered in an
accumulation of driftwood just north
of here on the Flint river banks. The
bones were discolored and disarticu
lated. There was no flesh and only
some shreds of clothing—apparently
of a dark serge—a belt and a pair of
shoes, size No. 7, with rubber heels in
fairly good shape. Dr. S. J. Chestnutt,
the county coroner, held an inquest
and states that It is the skeleton of
a white man who has been dead for
about ten months. The mouth of the
man shows that he had not finished
cutting his wisdom teeth and was
probably a fairly young man. There
were no means of identification, and
it is believed the remains were wash
ed upon the banks during the high
water of the Flint a month or so ago.

For more than Forty Years
Cotton Growers have known that
POTASH PAYS
More than 11,651,200 Tons of Potash Salts
had been imported and used in the United
States in the 20 years previous to January,
1915* when shipments ceased. Of this
6,460,700 Tons consisted of
KAINIT
which the cotton grower knew was both a
plant food and a preventive of blight and
rust,—with it came also 1,312,400 Tons of
20 per cent .
MANURE SALT
which has the same effects on Cotton, but which
was used mainly in mixed fertilizers.
Shipmepts of both Kainit and Manure Salt have
been resumed but the shortage of coal and cars and
high freight rates make it more desirable to ship
Manure Salt, which contains 20 per cent of actual
Potash, instead of Kainit, which eontaina less than
13 per cent actual Potash.
MANURE SALT can be used as a side dressing
on Cotton in just the same way as Kainit and will
give the same results. Where you used 100 pounds
of Kainit, you need to use but 62 pounds of Manure
Salt, or 100 pounds of Manure Salt go as far aa 161
pounds of Kainit.
MANURE SALT has been coming forward in
considerable amounts and cotton growers, who can
not secure Kainit, should make an effort to get
Manure Salt for aide dressing to aid in making a
big Cotton Crop.
Muriate of Potash
50 per cent actual Potash, has been coming forward
also,—100 pounds of Muriate are equivalent to 400
pounds of Kainit or 250 pounds of Manure Salt.
These are the three >
Standard GERMAN Potash Salts
that were always used in making cotton fertilizers
and have been used for all these years with great
profit and without any damage to the crop.
The supply is not at present as large as in former
years, but there is enough to greatly increase the
Cotton Crop if you insist on your dealer making
the necessary effort to get it for you.
