Old clothes are much worn these days, and yet that doesn’t
make theft: fashionable.
Among the men we usually try to avoid meeting on the
street is the fellow who says: “1 told you so.”
Why not try and live your life so the editor wont have
to cross his fingers when he writes your obituary?
The year ,1920 has furnished us two kinds of liars, and
an abundance of them—census liars and political liars.
In one'respect some Douglasville men are like churches—
they never start hustling till they get a debt on hands.
The Douglasville man who complains about having trouble
living within his income ought to try living without it once.
About the only time some Douglasville men begin to
economize is when the collection box gets around»to them.
The dooryard is a part of the home—why not keep it
clean and pretty as you like to have the inside of the house J
Scientists say the smallest thing in the world is a “quantel.”
They don’t make any mention of a ay envelope after the grocery
bill is paid.
<pne good thing about having newspaper men as candi
dates for the presidency is they ought to know how to boil
speeches down.
One thing about the census that isn t fair is when thev
take in all towns they count in the dead one?^ along with
the live ones.
TO MY CUSTOMERS
Owing to the advance in the price
fo coal from the price fixed by the
government, $3.15 per ton, to the
present price of $8.50 to $10.00, per
ton at the mines, we are forced to
raise our price on ice to 75cente per
100 at the box and 90 cents delivered.
1 cent per pound less than 100 pounds
as at present. At present prices we
are not making our coal bill. I trust
you will see the position We are in
as its cither go up or go out.

HARRY T. MOREY
THE BIRTH OF A SOUL
Kozytorium July 31
A feud, a sacrifice and an intense love interest form the
chain of eventsr ih the stirring dramatic feature, “The Birth of
« viVU V .
a oui.” JiafrjfT. Morey has a dual role, which calls for
some clever work. As Philip Grey, the man who realizes
his own unworthiness and who is unwilling to mar the hap
piness of the girl he loves, Mr. Morey does some very unusual
acting. Equally strong and impressive is his interpretation
of Charles Drayton. He draws two distinct types. The story
is one that will that will thrill all who like a feature filled
with exquisite scenery.
