To the Worshipful Master and War
dens of Douglasville Lodge No. 289.
F. & A. M.
We beg to submit the following re
port, to-wit:
Bro. Fred Aderliold was born Jan
1846, in then Campbell county, Geor
gia, now Douglas county, Georgia, and
lived his entire life of more than 74
vears in what is now Douglas county
lie was married to Miss Mary Edge,
daughter of Hon. John M. Edge, r
highly respected citizen of then Camp
bell, now Douglas county, Jan. 21st
.1.8(58, and eight children blessed this
union. He departed this life Juno
2nd, 1920, passing from this lodge
to the Celestial lodge above, where the
Grand Master of the universe presides.
As a young soldier he served his
country faithfully as a Confederate
soldier, and remained a true hearted
Southerner to the last
Ho he’d the following positions of
trust during his life, to-wit.' Marshal
of Douglasville, Sheriff of Douglas
county, for many yjears a deputy
sheriff of the county, and Justice of
thv Peace of the Town District, all of
which offices he filled with strict
punctuality and marked ability, and
his official acts wore always charact
erized bv impartiality and a high
sense of devotion'to the public welfare.
He was a member of this lodge for
many years. He filled the office of
Junior Warden and for many years
that of Tyler, and we all remember
tlipt he showed that devotion to duty
and punctuality that was characteris
tic of him.
He was a citizen who was always
or tho side of right, ns he saw it, and
was a courageous and honest man,
who was ever firm in what he be-
M^ved to be the right. Tie was a
modest man but inflexible when he
hod moturod and formed his opinion
TJ con’d only be swayed by en appeal
to reason which convinced him. No
greater tribute can bo paid to the
memory of any man than this. His
life exerted a beneficial influence on
all who knew him. Asa husband and
farther he was a model, combining love,
gonrt-ono*k, tact and firmness.
There-Torn he it resolved.
1. That the state aUd county has
lost a good citizen and an upright
r.nd faithful officer.
2. That this lodge has lost a true
and devoted member.
3. That, his family has lost a kind
and loving husband and father.
4 Th°-t a pag'» of our Minutes he
inscribed sacred 1o his memory.
f>. That a eonv of this resolution
be furnished to his widow.
(». That the pouglas County Senti
nel requested to publish.
7. That we extend our heartfelt
condolences to the grief strieken

among the trained animal features. If
