Tile annual meeting of the stock
Holders of th e Douglasville
Banking Company was held in
the new directors room at the
Bank on Monday, Januarr 3 at
10:00 A. M. and there was a good
attendance.
The report of the officers allow
'd that the Bank enjoyed a very
successful year.
The Douglasville Banking Co.
■was organized April 9. 1891,
■which will ,b e 00 years next April.
During that, time the Bank has
raid in dividends to the stock,
holders, 32fiper cent, being more
than $7. r ).000.00. At the meeting
on Monday they voted to carry a
substantial amount to the surp
lus account, and also uaid a six
v>er cent dividend, which with the
July 1st makes a total of 12 per
cent in dividends for the year.
The following officers were elec
ted: .T. T. Duncan, President, A.
W. MeLarty and M. E. Geer, Vice
Presidents; G T. MeLarty. Cashier-
•T 0 Sayer, Assistant Cashier;
and C. C. Johnston, Cashier of the
Winston Branch.
The following were re-elected

The following resolutions were
adopted by the stockholders.
“ BE IT RESOLVED: By the
stockholders of the Douglasville
Banking Co. at their annual meet
ing January 3, 1921, that we en
dorse the plan of the ATemphis
Cotton Convention and that- we
pledge our selves to eo-opernte
with said movement in furthering
*—.ths. purposes and plans of said
convention, and that we use nil
our energy and influence to try
and have the cotton crop
duced by at least one-third for the
vear1921.”
A barn belonging to Huber 1
Linden, of Lithia Springs, burn
ed down this week, causing the
loss of two mules and two cows,
besides other property. Four
other mules were badly injured
by the flames.
The American Telephone Com
pany has a crew of linemen mak
ing improvements in the com
pany’s property in this section
this week.

Committee met oh Saturday,
January rd3, and called a white
primary to be held on Saturday,
January 29, for the purpose of
nominating town officers for
the present year. Wednesday,
January 26, was the date set for’
closing entries. All entries must
be in by 6:00 p. m. that date.
All legal white voters are re
quested to participate.

well known young business man,
who has been connected with
Giles Brothers in their Douglas-
ville store for several years, has
