Sunday Afternoon
B. H. S.
FRIDAY;
PLAYS
A mass meeting was held at the
court house last Sunday afternoon
in the interest of a soberer and
more law-abiding town. A large
company was present, notwith
standing the coldness of the day.
After several short speeches
had been made an organization
was perfected, enrolling more
than one hundred members among (
the best citizens of the town. |
The purpose of the meeting ■
was to create sentiment and make j
effective the conviction that the j
interests of all concerned demand j
that the whiskey evil in Douglas-,
ville be put down.
The purpose of the League;
formed is to co-operate with the 1
regularly constituted authorities j
of the town and to supplement in j
any way’it shall deem wise what
is already being done to enforce i
the law.

The Bnchanan Hi Quintet won
from the Orange and Black on
the local court Friday to the tune
of 15 and 13. Altho the local boys
were forced to use a defensive
style of play most of the time,
due largely to the loss of King at
center, at times their passing was
spectacular and completely baf
fled the visitors. It would be
hard to pick the stars on either
side. For D. H. S. the passing of
Abercrombie and Abercrombie
and the shooting of Morris and
Stephens featured, while Enloe
and Griffith played the best game
for the visitors. The small score
on both sides was largely due to
the inability of both teams to find
the basket even from even
chances. The Saturday game had
to be called off due to rain and
will be played in Buchanan after
the holidays, j
Rockmart will be here Friday,
the 23rd, and as this team won
from Cedartown last Friday 30 to
