Woman’s Foreign Mission¬
ary Society
A fragrant flower sheds its
perfume upon the atmosphere all
around it. So the influence of
the recent woman’s meetings
held in our town, reached and
blessed Christian women of every
denomination. It was hearten¬
ing to come in touch with the
•earnest workers who were pres
ent, and to realize that an ever in¬
creasing number of Christian
women are grasping the truth,
woman too has a place in “earth’s
harvest Held s« wide'”
At ourOctober meeting, acorn
tnittee of four.was appointed,
whose duty it was 1 <> see
that every lady in the Methodist
church received i special and
cordial invitation to join our
Woman’s Foreign Missionary
Society, before time for the
November meeting. Only two
weeks remain in which to can¬
vas. If we have been postponing
this duty, let us begin at once, or
we may have to confess to duty
neglected when the call comes
for a report from this committee.
The Woman’s Foreign Mission¬
ary Society adopted at its
organization the Motto. “She
Hath Done What She Could,’’and
for its aim, “An auxiliary in every
•church, and every woman in the
church a member of the auxili¬
ary.” Are ;you a member? Then
adopt this motto as an individual
one, and l verily believe that in
the Fort Valley church at least,
will we soon sec the fulfillment
•of this aim. And if you are a
member, are you praying for
God's '.blessing upon < ur work
and workers in the faraway
fields? Ft is a blessed thought,
that through the power of prayer
and the power of our gifts, our
influence flies over land and sea,
helping to win rbe battle of our
Lord”! These are the words of
an earnest heart; and that they
may become the sentiment of
every heart in our own auxiliary
is my prayer.
