Wednesday afternoon Mr. and
Mrs. E. I). Walker entertained a
number of their friends in honor of
Miss Lillian MoMillian, of Alapaha,
who is visiting them.
Lemonade, ice cream and cake
were served. Then Miss Stella
Martin rendered two recitations in
which she showed no small degree
of elocutionary training, and one

peculiarly her own, followed by a
catchy piece by MissMollie Walker.
Pleasant? Yes, restl'ully pleas¬
ant. All who partake of Mr. and
Mrs. Walker’s hospitality know
that true conrtsy and geniality are
prominent features in their home.
Miss McMillian leaves to-day for
her home in Alapaha. We regret
her early return. She has found
many friends, however, who will
ever remember her visit with pleas¬
ure.—Adel News, 18tli.

A startling incident, of which Mr.
John Oliver of Philadelphia, was
the subject, is narrated by him as
follows: “I was in a most dread¬
ful condition. My skin was almost
yellow, eyes sunken, tongue coated,
pain continually in my back and
sides, no appetite—gradually grow¬
ing weaker day by day. Three
physicians had given me up. For-
; ‘Electric innately, n friend advised trying
Bitters ;’ and to my great
Joy and surprise, the. lirst bottle
‘made a decided improvement. I
continued their use for three weeks,
and am now a well man. I know
they saved my life, and robbed the
grave of another victim.” No one
should fail to try them. Only 50c.,

Mr. and Mrs. Tygart’s Reception.
One of the most delightful social
events of the season 'was given last
Saturday night by Mr. and Mrs.
Tim. Tygai't, complimentary to
Miss Emma Paulk, of Ocilla.
Nashville’s society was in its
most radiant dress. Beautiful Miss
Paulk was of course the belle of the
evening, but all the Nashville girls
looked their prettiest.
The refreshments, consisting of
cakes and ices, were usumptous and
abundant.
The evening was very pleasantly
spent. Mr. and Mrs. Tygart are
famous entertainers and deservedly
beloved and popular.
The invited guests were:
Misses Una Lamb, Lizzie Gorman,
Lou Futch, Mattie Tygart, Emma
Paulk, Easty Peeples, Fanny Last-
inger, Messrs. Bob Tygart, George
Winston, Nat Peeples, Tyler Pee¬
ples, Bill Tygart, A. E. Bullard,
Owen Williams, Bonnie Jones, Dr.

A Nothor Tells How She Saved Her
Little Daughter’s Life.
I am the mother of eight children
and have had a great deal of ex-
perience with medicines. Last Sum-
luer my little daughter had the
dysentery in its worst form.
thought she would die. I tried
everything I could think of, but
nothing seemed to uo her any good.
I saw by an advertisement in our
paper that Chamberlain’s Colic,
Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy was
highly' recommended and sent and
got a bottle at once. It proved to
bo one of the very best medicines
we ever hiid in the house. It saved
my little daughter’s life. I am anx¬
ious for every mother .to know what
an excellent medicine it is. Had 1
known it at first it would have saved
me a great deal of anxiety and my
little daughter much suffering.—
Yours truly, Mrs. Geo. F. Burdick,
